Best is subjective, it is situational. It all depends on how you, I could argue till my fingers fall off about multi being better than strafe or vice versa and simply wouldnt convince some stalwart fans to switch.
In my experience I have found that strafe tends to be preferable in most situations, especially for choke points which are prime for exploitation as a Zon.
Um I'm wondering if someone could tell me whether or not the extra shots per minion bonus to strafe is still in effect in v1.11?
I've got a lvl26 bowazon with decoy + merc and I'm not seeing any extra arrows when I strafe....
edit: nvm forget it, I see them now....*smacks forehead*

yes.
Now I have a question, what the link with strafe?
I'd like to add my two cents to the discussion.
With my bowazons, I use both strafe and multishot. I put at least 10 hard points into multishot, and 1 into strafe initially.
My issue with strafe is that a lot of times it misses moving enemies, which means wasted time and mana. So when first encountering a bunch of spread out monsters, I fire off a bunch of multishots, and the sheer volume of arrows makes hitting everything in front of me a sure thing. Then once a few monsters have died, or they stop moving so much to swing at my merc, valk, and group members, THEN I use strafe.
If there are fewer monsters, or ones advancing in a line that the architecture or geography of the environment forces them into, strafe gives me more bang for my buck. Or if I'm being advanced on from all directions.
Multi-shot performs best when there are waves of monsters in one direction, perhaps spread out a bit. I can hit more of them faster with multi. Like in the cow level. Problem is, if I use strafe in situations where there are gaps between the monsters, those strafe arrows fly towards the position the monsters were at when clicked my right mouse button. By the time the arrows get there, the monsters have moved laterally to engage my forces, and the arrows miss. Or if there are more targets than strafe can shoot at simultaneously, multishot outperforms it by a longshot.
But if there are only a few monsters, strafe is much more efficient.
multi for pvp ,strafe for pvm.
i don't think strafe is going to be that useful with enermy with half a brain in pvp will circling in to you.But for pvm, monsters 90%will run straight at you anyway,so extra damage help. That's imo
i don't think this post is going to be that useful with posters with half a brain in this discussion circling in to you.But for pvm, dumbasses 90%will run straight at the end of the thread,so extra post is not help. That's the fng.
Anyway, generally speaking, if you're real green, then go Multiarrow. It's simply easier to use for all the issues that have been discussed in this thread. The only real downside to Multiarrows is you'll have to carry more arrow quivers. The reduced damaged is pretty much moot simply because of the sheer volume of arrows vs. the timing complexity on Strafe.
If you're a little more experienced, get both, whether you max it or 1pt it, either way or inbetween, you'll find most of the long time players do this once they've figured out where all the common spawn crowds are and how to lead into their shots.
If you already know the pros/cons of both then you don't need to ask, and therefore don't need an answer and you're just looking to prolong a pointless arguement.
We really need to close this thread.
Thread should be Strafe AND MultiArrow combo.
both do worked fine together.
How about ITD? Does it work with all of multishot's arrows?
