After watching all the other teams in the NFL such as the Browns, Dolphins and Cowboys make great moves and the Raiders doing nothing I got a little frustrated.
Well they finally signed a Qb, namely Aaron Brooks.
Sadly im living in europe so i wont be able to see a single game.
You call that signing a quarterback???![]()
Sorry...couldn't resist!
I wish you could have resisted, then I would have been the first person to make that joke.
I can still use my Aaron Brooks = Quincy Carter Lite material.
Well atleast he is better than Kerry Collins.:shocked:Originally Posted by Croup
Yeah at least Aaron Brooks has a man's name. Kerry...geez.Originally Posted by Rangniheldr
Are you kidding me? '05-'06 Brooks is a downgrade from '05-'06 Collins in almost every possible statistical category. Oakland can't protect a QB, they need to worry about that before they worry about keeping their game of QB musical chairs going. People thought Tuia would be better than Collins, too. That lasted all of what, almost a whole game? This move all but guarantees that Oakland will successfully defend their position at the bottom of the AFC West.
I bet Brooks has better numbers in Oaktown this year than your boy Eli does in New Yawk.
Brooks has been solid in N.O. and now has some real toys to play with in Oakland.
...and Brooks cost the Raiders less than half of what Collins would have this year.
He is younger too...
The Raiders had a injured o-line last year, they lost Robert Gallery and another starter. I dont see how Aaron Brooks is a downgrade considering all Kerry can do is throw the ball deep and hope randy moss catches it, he also has next to no mobility. Aaron ^Brooks on the other hand is a lot more mobile and he will have a better o-line to work with in Oakland.Originally Posted by EliManning
They also freed up some cap room by releasing Collins, which could be used to sign an effective linebacker or cornerback.
