Burn them! Burn the traitorous dogs! (bots)
Everyone has to deal with bots, this would waste resources trying to kill them.
I don't feel the effect of bots, except jumping on the occasional Baal-run with a bot.
Your crazy, bots are helping this game.
No big deal.Originally Posted by jackthelad

No offense to Mr. Fincher, of course. I think he was under extraordinary pressure to pump out a film that lived up to the smash success of Aliens - there was no way that was going to happen.
I remember interviews he did during the production of Alien 3 - he was enraptured to have been given the reigns. He was definately enthusiastic about the subject matter, so this was not a case of an indifferent director looking for a big paycheck and an easy box-office ride. He really wanted Alien 3 to be the best film it could be.
It's the next logical step storywise. The Dark Horse graphic novels dealt with that concept years ago - good stuff, and not nearly as goofy as AvP.Originally Posted by Machina

I agree with Dredd about the AvP comics/books, I read one or two and they were nice and all, but they didn't cry for a movie, certainly not a Paul W.S. Anderson movie anyways, how did he blow Event Horizon?? It was such a fun idea!
well i would have to rank them
1)Aliens:I prefered the characters more in the second one.....hicks, hudson, and vasquez. there was more action, and i like the story better than the first one.
2)Alien:the face huuger on kane, the chestburster at dinner, ripley risking her life for a cat....more suspensful than the other ones
3)alien 3:the no guns thing had already been done, although the exploding alien was a good idea.
4)alien ressurection: the killed the black guy!!!! he was the best character....other than jonmer and vreiss....
5)alien nation: the making of alien
6)AVP.......I don't count it as part of the series
I agree. Comics can handle a much higher level of - shall we say - lameness and camp than a movie can. Different medium, different rules. As for Alien 4, the only good thing about it was the cast (WEAVER, WINONA RYDER, MICHAEL WINCOTT and RON PERLMAN!!!!), and I just felt sorry for them because they were totally wasted.Originally Posted by Dredd
I thought that was one of the worst scenes. The aliens aren't supposed to think like humans, that's dumb and it makes them less scary. They were frightening in the originals because they were animals - cunning, but still animals. Primal and whatnot. That scene just illustrated to me that the makers had no respect for the concept of the aliens and the essense of their character. Like the velociraptors in the abysmal Jurassic Park 3.Originally Posted by jackthelad
Oh hell, I forgot about that. That is so rooted. It totally makes all that drama in Aliens a complete anticlimax. Sure, there's no way they could have kept Newt around without annoying the hell out of everyone (in Aliens it was all fine, but twice in a row would be testing the audience's patience), but they should have thought of something better.Originally Posted by Raft Boy
Nah, then it would have lost all the claustrophobia and suspense and just would have been a special effects-a-thon. There must be a middle ground.Originally Posted by Raft Boy
I know, I know. The whole movie was perfectly summed up by the absurd end credits: Oh my God, that's some funky ****.Originally Posted by Ash Housewares
Hicks was the best character in the second one, and they killed him off. I suppose the director expected me to get an attachment to the forgettable prisoner characters, but he might as well just made the whole planet populated with Ensigns. Never mind the fact that somehow the queen alien laid an egg in the ship despite losing her tail before going onto it. Plus it was annoying how the alien in the first movie popped out in no time, but for some reason it took forever to incubate when it was in Ripley.Originally Posted by dondrei
