Howdy,
Couple quick questions about hellforge and ancients quests.
1. Is there a level limit on any of the hellforges, most importantly nm/hell (ie if a character is bug rushed to hell can a lvl 1 character theoretically complete his nm/hell hellforge quests for the runes?)
2. Do the rune drops in nm and hell hellforge quests depend on character level (does a lvl 1 char get worse runes than a level 90 char?)
3. I always thought norm ancients quest was required lvl 24, but arreat summit says 20. Can you not enter worldstone until you're 25 or do you just not get any experience until lvl 25? Why do people wait for 25 to start baaling?
Edit: 4. Is there a level limit on larzuk socketing quests? Can a lvl 1 char get norm, nm and hell socket quests?
P.S. yes, I'm debating bug rushing characters for instant gratification... My guess is there's safeguards against it. Oh well...
Thanks for any clarification,
-Robes
1. There's no level limit. A level 1 character can do both Hell and NM forge.
2. The character level has no impact on the rule that drops. Every rune that the forge can drop has an equal chance of spawning, regardless of the character level (or any other factors for that matter).
3. Level 20 is the required level for normal Ancients (and 40 for NM Ancients, 60 for Hell). People generally leave them until level 24 so they can begin Baal runs immediately after, at level 25.
4. There is no level limited on the socket quest either, in act 5.
95% of the time I'm right, so why worry about the other 2%?

Thanks for the help.
As a side note, what's the highest rune that can drop for nm/hell forges?
I've only seen up to Um on nm, highest I've got is Mal on hell, but I'm sure hell goes higher than that....
Thanks again,

An Um rune is the highest from NM, while a Gul rune is the highest from Hell.

Would this be a viable strategy for a new player? To rush chars just for socketing and runes?
and where is the fun in that? for a new player
do people still play this game like it is supposed to? except the spf
Some people do it. You need just above 100 new chars rushed to hellforge, and you got a legit Gul. barely over 5000 for a zod. On average.
On east and west your could get HRs for organs much faster than it would take to cube one with the forge.
The question is, for a totally new player, what requires the least powergear?Originally Posted by Merick

Just make a lightning sorceress. You'll get enough Pgems in the games you use for leveling that you can easily buy yourself an occy, a shako, some mf gear if you want. Then you're off to kill the Countess, the Summoner, and Nihlathak.
