Ranger Questions

I love playing Bowazons and thought a Ranger would be a nice build to try. I've read the Ranger guides and a question regarding runewords/skills/equipment.

Would using a Hand of Justice bow (Holy Fire), Holy Freeze Act II Merc and using Holy Shock as main aura, especially maxing the Resist Fire/Cold/Lightning and adding left over points to Salvation for synergies, work? What other equipment would then help this build?

Investing points in Resist Cold will not synergize your merc's Holy Freeze aura.

Doh, yah. OK, then that will allow Salvation to be maxed instead.

If this is pvp then there is only one viable bow for a ranger pally,the widowmaker. If it is pvm (most likely) and if you are ladder, make a faith instead of hoj,and pump another aura instead of fanaticism. The possibilities are endless (conviction as main aura,and synergized dream helm etc etc etc).

Thanks and I should have qualified myself: this is Ladder and I only play pvm.

If you are used in bowazons though,remember that paladins have no auto target skill like ga or strafe...It will be a pain to target.

Yes, I'm well aware of that. I've made Magic Arrow and normal arrow Passive Zons so I can handle aiming OK.

Still thinking of HOJ bow and Holy Shock aura both synergized with Resist Fire/Lightning and Salvation and adding Act II Holy Freeze aura as is. It'll be interesting to see how he plays, especially in Hell diff (I don't mind dying a lot...:laugh: )

Yes, can't pump Penetrate to help like I could for a Zon but I can pump Dex (Str not needed, so Dex amd Vit will get most Stat Pts) plus HoJ is ITD so that limits the AR issue somewhat.

If you have the funds try this: HoJ bow,dragon armor,dream helm. Synergize the auras with your resist auras and pump conviction instead. ITD won't work vs champions/uniques/bosses but conviction will help alot with that...
