In addition to having lived an hour from the border for most of my life, I'm now going to go to college there!
Yes, this is another college acceptance thread. I found out a few days ago that I got in at McGill. Of course, it's always big news to find out you were accepted somewhere, but this was really huge for me since I only applied to one university (no safety school for me). If I didn't get in, I was going to figure out something completely different to do with my life. Guess this seals it. I'm going to college after all
I think it was basically my ACT scores which got me in the door. My grades are decent but not spectacular (my junior year is just recorded as pass-fail) and I have no extracurricular activities whatsoever. Gogo ACT.
McGill's nice I hear. I live about 2.5 hours south of Montreal in NY, and I visit my friends there every once in a while. He got a pretty sweet studio apartment and splits it with 2 very attractive ladies. Hopefully you can be as fortuante.![]()
Congratulations! McGill's a good school, im sure you will enjoy it. Its also a pretty big party school, so have fun while youre there.
My sister graduated from McGill last year - it's a truly superior university.
Congratulations!
It's always comforting to hear someone else participated in no extra-ciricular activities.
Applying for college wasn't a big deal for me, there's no way I'm ready to move to another city, and I exceeded all of the local university's requirements.
McGill is a very good school, though I may be biased a little...as I'm a student there. (Feel free to stop by the bunker when you're here - that would be the Ernest Rutherford Physics building).
Don't worry about it being too much of a party school, that's not really the case. What gives it that reputation is the fact that's it's in one of the biggest party towns in the general geographic area.
All in all it's a good school, with a good atmosphere.
Congratulations. What was your ACT score?
Like the OTF, Canada has abolished pants. So just check them in at the border.

Groovy. I scored 32 when I took it 25 years ago, but I have to take it again this spring for school. I wonder if I'll score higher or lower.
