Everyone seems to take it for granted that everyone likes movies. I'm just not into them in general. I don't think you can do that much in 1.5-2 hours. And if it's even longer than that I get really restless. Movie sequels are almost always garbage, but how often is a book sequel or second TV season a lazy rehash? A book or TV show (Lost) has so much more detail, and if you like it (and if you're watching/reading, then you probably like it) then you get to enjoy it even more. Lost has produced over 30 hours of material, there's no way you could fit it into a movie.

I like to watch movies, on the other hand t.v. shows now-a-days blow, and that's to put it politely, especially anything that is a so called "reality" show. Eh, to each his own.rop:

well I have to qualify your post in that you don't like movies and are a terrible person, which really leaves me with nothing to say to you butOriginally Posted by Merick
nothing happens in Lost, it's constant exposition and backstory that goes nowhere, if you just want to idle, enjoy your television
I'll gladly take another hour of trite backstory of Jack's over any movie I've seen released in the past year.Originally Posted by Ash Housewares
I don't mind movies as a whole, they certainly don't have the detail and involvement that a book has (and even a TV series can be pretty good on that score - although they rarely are) but then again, it's a totally different medium. Movies do what they do well (or at least, the 0.01% of good ones do).
I enjoy the occasional movie, but not as much as I did when I was younger. To be honest, I barely even touch my television these days - I watch an hour's worth of tv a week ... maybe. I have no idea why I continue to pay for cable when I don't even watch it. :scratch:Originally Posted by Merick
I agree with you to some extent that a weekly television series (when you're not dealing with a lazy production) has the advantage of being able to build character development and story arcs in a way that a 90 minute film cannot. However, I can't imagine - for example - watching episodes of Die Hard or Pulp Fiction on the glass teat every week. Some stories are best told in 90 minutes, others in 30 hours.
I actually highley enjoy movies over all over entertainment medians(including video games) Tv especially. The only show on TV that even remotley interests me nowadays is Family Guy. Pretty much everything else i see on isnothing but idiotic reality shows, and dramas trying to copy the success of The X-Files (unsuccesfully)
And maybe if your bored with mainstream films, check out some indie movies. Theres a lot of great classics and awesome new ones get released all the time.
And i guess if your really into it, make a movie of your own about the things you want to see.
