While the fact that D2 is designed with randomized maps does make for extra replayability, it can at times become quite annoying.
So, since we have the wonderful road in act 1 to guide our way, and since people have figured out how to find Nihlathak in his halls on the first try by looking at the four key walls, I've begun to wonder whether any other clues for map prediction have been found so far?
Something to make finding the summoner faster, or for knowing which turns to take in the act 3 marshes?
So, anyone know any other landmarks?
The design of the garden around the outer cloister waypoint gives you a hint about there the barracks are IIRC. I never cared about that, however, so I don't know details.

for some reason when doing meph runs, going left from the waypoint is on average better than going right. But then again, might be luck(Tested it on like 60 runs though, really a 9 to 10 chance of finding level 3 earlyer by going left)
From the durance2 wp, follow the wall counterclockwise to find the entrance to 3... most of the time. Of course there will be plenty of times that the door was two tele's back from the wp, lol.
wsk 2 - counterclockwise
wsk 3 - clockwise
summoner, I find him to be on the southeast or northeast leg at least 50% of the time
I am glad I never need to bother with any of this, because I play every area once, full clears.rop:
Countess: always turn left. Works 95% of the times. I have tried to get rueles on the remaining 5% but to no avail yet.
the resaon is that the staircase is always (yes always) pointed in that direction. In other words, if the room with the waypoint has its exit pointing north east, then the exit from room with the down stairs always points north west. Because of level generation rules (stairs and waypoint rooms must have 1 and only one exit), this means that the down stairs are more likely to be found quicker if you go around the outside clockwise.Originally Posted by Resteppa

I know i was, lol. In single player I just wait till I find a good meph map, and keep it until i am tired of running him. I have one that is two tele's away basically, and no kids in between :wink3:Originally Posted by Yokomohoyo
