I'm moving there tomorrow. Just curious what parts of town are best to live in. And what parts to avoid. I'll be renting for now. Probably look into a house later. Also, what's there to do besides the obvious - casinos, clubs and all that?
From what I've been told by people who have escaped living there, avoid living near the strip. Try to stay at least a mile away from it.
Other than that, beats me. I thought about moving there because of the booming construction market but decided against it. I like Boise well enough.
I won't be gambling except once in a blue moon if friends are in town. So I don't plan on being too near the strip. Wouldn't mind being near some cool bars and clubs though. Then again, the only ones I know are in casinos.
Why are you moving there?
I am visiting there to play some poker in May. I am quite excited.
So Freezer, next time I'm in Vegas, care to have a brew or two?
sure. send me a pm if you're going to be in town.
i've been doing contract work for a company there. they offered me a lot of money to relocate and go full-time.
I was born in Vegas. Haven't been in there for a couple of years, but Summerlin is an awsome community.

I'm planning on attending UNLV there next semester, and uh yea.
Wow, not my number of posts is officially my states area code :/
born and rasied in vegas.
dont ever live near the strip, its dirty, poor. lots of traffic also. once you move here, you will hardly ever go to the strip. summerlin, henderson, north/west are the best place to live. the cheapest of them three, is north/west. look into it, however its a quiet bit away from vegas. thats all i had to say for now, pm me if you need more info.
It was 117F on July 14, 2005. I nearly fried.
