    Necro question about Amplify damage

I wonder if it is any useful to use 'amplify damage' (AD) if you dont use any weapons but instead of you use only bone-spear attack and skelleton-mages as they are both magic attacks and the AD curse says ampifies damage for non-magic targets.

    Thanks,

    Ewoud, Necromancer Act2

Amplify Damage only works for physical attacks. It won't benefit your Bone Spear or Spirit at all.

If you use mages, then I suppose you can use Lower Resist to help them out a little.

Yes i believe so too, and offcourse Summon Resist to make the mages have better defense but...both of these skills are far away from my progress as I am currently at level 19. I have saved 2 skill points but i dont know on what to use them yet. With my wand and unreaveller head, I have 2 x +3 extra to skel mastery, total of 12 skelmastery. I dont use golums as i find them less useful. Amplify damage does nothing good in my case, Weaken i dont really need either as I and the mages keep away from targets so they hardly inflict me. Iron maiden seems to steel experience from my mates as when monsters hit them, the monsters hit themselfs and points go to me..

I think i should spent a skillpoint on Confuse. And the second one on an extra mage i have only 3 so far. And ofcourse later an extra bone apear level but not now yet, the damage is already 27-36 level 2

Do you agree or you have any other ideas Evrae Altana?

    Thanks for the advise

In terms of damage what I like to do is use Corpse Explosion (CE) once my skeletons have killed a monster or 2.

I'll give that a try, actually I havent played with that one often. Probably I need a few updates on it before really effective though.

    Thanks

you can always check out the Necromancer forums. There's a lot of great guides and faq's about all that there. I play as a necro too, so welcome aboard the death wagon ;-)

After you max out Raise Skeleton and Skeleton Mastery (and Skeletal Mage too if you want), max out Corpse Explosion. This skill is one of the faster crowd killers out there. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed.

One point will give you full effectiveness; other points just add to blast radius. By all means max it out - it will still be effective at lower levels, just not on as many monsters at once.

Amp damage may have its situational place in the odd case of multiple immunities depending on what merc you're using. If you are using an Act II merc, for example, you may wish to cast amp damage in some cases where physical rather than elemental or magical damage would be best. It would also help him leach and stay alive, as it's based on physical damage.
