    Socketing Recommendation

I started a SP ladder blizz sorc a couple weeks ago and hence am playing totally untwinked and self-found. I recently matted her and went back to NM for some easy Meph MF runs. I found this last week sometime:

    Rune Heart
    Jewel
    Required Level: 42
    Item Version: 1.10 Expansion
    Item Level: 59
    Fingerprint: 0x44e811f2
    +7 to Strength
    Fire Resist +26%
    Lightning Resist +10%
    Cold Resist +10%
    Poison Resist +10%
10% Better Chance of Getting Magic Items

and found an occy just 10 minutes ago. The question I have is obviously; should I socket this sweet jewel in the occy? The level requirements are the same, the jewel adds mf and prismatic resists and strength is never bad, but I don't really need it while mf'ing in NM. Should I save it for something later in my mf'ing career or plop it in now? I'm thinking socketing it in a weapon would be the best, as a Ptopaz or Um works best in helms or armors, plus I wouldn't want to waste a non-existent Ist in a weapon. Is this the right weapon for it though? Lemme know what you all think.

If you're using the Occy in Hell, then I'd definitely put it in there. If you're using some other weapon in Hell -- which I don't understand why you would, since Occy is an awesome weapon -- then I'd put it in that other one.

That's one pretty jewel. An Occy is a fine home for it, just make sure that the teleport on Occy doesn't drive you batty. Some people are okay with it (I never had any real issues) and some people can't stand it. Be sure you aren't one of the latter before you put your jewel there.

Ok, thanks for the opinions. I've never minded the random teleport from the occy, as it usually doesn't go off. In HC, it'd be a different story of course. I haven't gone on to hell meph yet, but will be soon, so I think I'll go ahead and socket it. Thanks again.

IMHO for MFing, the Occy + Shako + 3 Tal's pieces > Full Tals
The jewel should be socketed in the Occy.

The Tal's Set is only good for dual elemental sorceresses such as Meteorb, but occy/shako+talarmor/ammy/belt is superior for blizzard sorcs.

Uh, yes, if you don't mind having quite a bit less resists (65 > 20).

Of course in SC it isn't so critical to have max resists, especially while MFing with a caster... but then again I play HC.
