    Me too.

Thanks for your reply durrutti. Even though I possess non of that software I appreciate the help. Is this software costly or is freeware? Has everyone done this to prevent the animation lag?

Frankly I don't know if it helps the lag i do it with all the games just so i don't need to bother with the cd's, so to recap you start with winiso you create an image of your cd which just an exact copy of it, once you have an image you start daemon tools it will create 4 virtual drives like f: for example or h: whatever then you mount the images in the vitual drives for example you put the d2 play disk (image) on f: then the lod disk (image) on h: then you can play normally has if the cd's where actually in your cd-rom

you and remsy can check your pm's for the links

Ok so when I enter a new map or act via the waypoint system, or kill a boss or some other event I get some minor lag. This is especially a problem when killing a boss in public games and the death animation for the boss locks me up for 3 or 4 seconds while my CD starts to spin up. By the time I can act again any good loot is already grabbed up and I am left standing there holding, well, nothing.

So does anyone know how to avoid this? It seems strange since I preformed a complete full install, of all movies and such. Why would it need to go back to the CD for something “in game?” At log on I can understand this. Is there a way to get around or disable this “legally” with out hacks or third party programs? Is it something simple? My computer is reasonable (actually very good relative to the games requirements) and I have a high speed internet connection. Playing on Bnet, Ladder games, Useast. Same thing happens in CD rom reader/writer combo or DVD reader.

Sorry if this info is out there. I have tried looking but have not found it so if someone would be nice enough to point me in the correct direction, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks.

I use a great program called "Drive Speed". This is actually a program Blizzard's web site refers you to. It prevents your CD drive from spinning down. It's pretty much a necessity.

    Hey LordOfDesttructtion,

Thanks for the heads up on this. I will also check this out. This seems a might bit easier that the previous posters idea, though I do appreciate his efforts and may still implement them. Easy=good on for me on this. Thanks again. I wondered if I was the only one or if not how everyone else solved this problem.
