Help with jewel socketing please

I was wondering what the result would be (before I waste it) of placing my 30% enh damage jewel into my helm. I would put into my weapon but it is already BoTD so no go.

Will placing it in my helm increase my damage by 30% or is it just a waste since helms do not do damage so therefore no effect?

I think it will increase your damage, wherever you socket it. It`s not like gems, where there is a difference between socketing it in a weapon or in an armor.

If you put ed jewel into weapon it will increase weapon base damage, if you put in armor it will add to overall dmg only.
