Haha, tachy your run sounds like how my first run went last night.
This guide should be toned down...its too good  . It was pure suspense as i got the organs and opened uber trist for the first time with my brother watching me. In the end, i dropped the ubers so fast the next thing i heard from my brother was "what the hell, i thought you said this was going to be hard". And since im non-ladder i dont even have a grief to work with. Much thanks kingdry!
I find it kind of weird that people use torches while doing uber trist since you'll have to have someone else pick up the torch for you. And i think res and life charms will do more good than pcombs not that you really need them if your sport a grief pb. Pcomb lifers probably will be the best choice but they wont increase your damage all that much...stack your res first. My inventory was half full with some life and res charms so i went in with about +340 res haha
another question, does the ias on a grief PB matter or should i just look for the dmg. thx again!
with lvl 20 fanat you only need something like 15ias more to reach max zeal with a phase blade...and grief gives a minimum of 30ias so you will always have max zeal with fanat on. So, to answer your question: yes, only look for damage.
thanks for the reply but i am talking about smite. Does the ias on grief affect smite? how much ias will max smite attack speed. will i need to add a 15ias jewel to my guill face?
Hahah whatup Shadow...yea ubers was fun and suprisingly easy!!! Although what about Resist and FHR(faster hit recovery i'm sure you know) small charms? Would that be more useful in ubers...does FHR make a difference, and is there a cap on FHR???? Also, are you saying that Pcombs 45 life should be replaced with simiply more resist charms?????
Using a phase blade with max fanat aura you only need 15%ias for max zeal and smite (weapon attack speed does affect smite)...but grief runeword gives +30-40%ias so you will never need an ias jewel since the grief runeword gives enough ias to hit max zeal and smite all the time (but fanat aura has to be on)
@Tachy:
Anime answered my question about mephs conviction doing -125 res so just make sure you have +300 res so you will always have max res. As far as i know, i thought smite and zeal were uninteruptable so FHR wouldnt really matter that much. I always figured FHR was only for pvp to prevent stunlock (the breakpoints to go for are 48 or 86 FHR if youre concerned). Pcomb lifers are very useful but if your using pcombs and your res is in the negative zone with meph's conviction then i would say +res is more important.
As for my setup, I couldnt find any grief pb that i didnt suspect were duped on NL so im using the death zerker, loh gloves, highlord ammy, 15ias guil and nos belt setup...my smite damage seems weak compared to the grief pb setup but wow crushing blow sure does take those ubers down fast.
I know Griswold has been mentioned, but only the shield. Would the complet set stand a chance?
And correct me if I'm wrong, but checklist for übertristram 1.point smiter is:
- life tap
- BO or just over 1500hp in some other way
- enough resist, 250-300 all in all, the more the merrier
- CB, over 50% is nice
- DS, dunno here, the more the merrier I guess
- FAST weapon
- a gear setup with XXX %ED
Now, I lack life tap, BO and a Grief like weapon.
My zeal dmg is 2k and smite is 1k. What should I get first? What is most important, life tap, BO or Grief like weapon?
Sorry to interupt ur discussion. I have a 1pt smite/ zealer on west ladder. To make a long story short, i want to know if it's worth it to trade for 15 res gcs, since I will be using um'd hoz, coh, also fade from treachery. wouldn't fade even things out...besides i have good resist on my anni, a 15res all gc, a 5res.sc already....
I just wouldn't want to waste it on something i don't need if fade does the trick. thanks
Between the 65 res from CoH and the boost from Fade, your res will be fine.
