Well my opinion is if your gonna make a smiter do smiter skills only since a zealer is a dueling character. You need to max smite,fantasism, and holy shield, then when you have maxed those skills max defiance and vigor. If you can afford it get a coh, highlords ammy, bul'kathos ring, and get that ik **** outta there and get verdungos[ if you can afford a greif than ge ta coa that will make a huge difference but like 15sojs]. If your gonna do Uber tristram you gotta do the thigs I listed because zealer's are **** against Uber Tristram. If your gonna do Uber Tristram then you gotta have a perfect smiter and I recomend that you rebuild your smiter.

No this character can do nothing against any other small characters. Smiters do more dmg the higher the persons life, they will die in a group of people they aren't made for that. If your gonna key run build a hammerdin and use Enigma,Harlaquin Crest Shako, Aracknids mesh, Mara's, Heart of the oak, Herald of Zakuram, Sandstorm Treks, Magfist ogre gauntlets. This is the top gear for hammerdins if you dont think the gear is right for a hammerdin ask someone else. But if you dont believe me your not gonan find the answer asking someone else cause there gonna say the same thing......

I think you should try out this build before you knock it so hard. Hammerdin's/Zealer's/Smiter's all have their uses, but in this case you can take a specialized character (Zealer) and make him useful for another purpose as well. This way you don't have to build two characters who are very similar to each other, and save a little of your hard earned loot at the same time.

Edit: just FYI, the first PvM character I ever made was a pure smiter. He solo'd the game form start to finish, very easily most of the time. The only problem he had was physical immunes because I didn't know a good technique at the time to deal with them. You seem to forget that Holy Shield raises you defense significantly - I could often stand in the middle of a pack and smack them one at a time with no problems.

Seconded. I built one of these and it is one of the safest characters I have ever played; I solo'd Baal in the early 80's. I play single player, so no ubers and not loads of high runes either.(I use Smoke as armour), but even on players 8, he is a lot of fun.

I suggest trying out the build before you make ye comments.

Anyway most people don't need "Perfect Gear" or "Perfect Smiter" to run Uber-tristram. There is something called skill and this guide is here to show how people to do ubers without all those godly unqiues or RWs you have.

Display bug. Please whack a few monsters out of town before posting. You will see that you are doing a lot more than 900 damage.

Well... If I "needed" perfect gear to do the ubers, then explain the stack of torches I have sitting on mules... Ahh, and explain the fact that I do not have a pure smiter on any of my accounts... So, let me recap this:

Smiter: No check
Perfect gear: No check
Big "honkin' stack o' torches: That's a big ole 10-4 good buddy!

Yep... Perfect gear is over rated... Pure smite is over rated... Well, for this application any way... Go go gadget ghetto!

And hell act 5 monsters have much more than 2k hp. Your actual damage is much higher than the displayed one.
