I can guarantee that nothing, (well, not much ) of that dough was stolen. 200 Billion was way too low an estimate for building the local loop into 45mps plant. I dealt with numerous companies trying to evaluate long distance service. It came to my attention that for the most part, all these companies have done for decades is charge us for use of lines which we as taxpayers bought in the first place.Originally Posted by YogiRat

Bridge tap, if you know what it means, then you know what I mean. The local loop(distribution) was not built to acomodate ADSL. In some cases, entire facilities had to be replaced. They are still working on it to this day.
