I am looking for a character to take on Diablo, Baal and do key runs and maybe a few other things in hell. I am currently playing an Assassin and a Blizz sorc, but they can't go everywhere in the game so my options of runs are limited and I'm getting very frustrated with this game as a result. That and the pitiful drops that I am getting so far since playing. In one and a half months on bnet I have an Um and a Pul and that's it, I can't even afford to get my sorc the Tal armor she needs to complete the set so she can MF more successfully.
I have 3 characters in mind a Meteorb, a Barb and one I don't like but will play if I can go where I want to with it and that is the Pally. I don't even want to run any of them personally, I just want to play the game, but sadly you can't do anything in this game without having the right equipment so I go on mindnumbingly boring MF runs for pathetic drops to scrounge through miles of trash hoping to find something worth selling so that I can finance a character to play. Anyhoo sorry for the ranting thru this post I am just very frustrated with this game, all I want is to play the game and stop doing runs unless I need equipment. Please let me know which of the 3 characters may have the best chance of running the runs stated above and I'll give it a try.
Thanks, RR
Meteorb. Very versatile. If you get bored with one MF area, you can simply move on to another area. Also, don't expect drops to fall down like rain; patience is the key to MFing.
well i'm sorry to say but imo the only one that can go anywhere and survive is the hammerdin.. he's kinda boring with out a enígma but you can take him anywhere with some cheap gear :=) wizzy/shako/spirit/viper
IK barbs good for Dkey run. With Dkeys, you can trade for other keys (1 Dkey = 2H/3Tkeys).Originally Posted by Road Ratt
Use Smealot (check out Pougee's guide) for the ubers.![]()
Met/Orb sorc = very versatile to do most things in hell.
Ya I know that's why I need another character so I can get to areas I can't get to now, then I'll have multiple choices of places to MF. I run the pits with my Sin because my Blizz Sorc can't, too many cold immunes. My Blizz Sorc runs Andy, Meph, Pindle and the River of Flames when it doesn't spawn the cold immunes. I've ran the mausoleum a few times but never found anything there so I stopped. I won't go back to the ancient tunnels ever, I get cursed by almost every unique monster in there then my merc dies.Originally Posted by Evrae Altana
I don't expect drops to fall like rain, but if they would at least trickle down more often than they do now it wouldn't be so discouraging. The best item I have found in the game so far is Arachnid mesh and a Tal ammy and the Um which fell from a unique while on an andy run.
Sorcs can survive well, too, although at slightly more expensive equipment (full Tal's). You need 2 element + merc, though.Originally Posted by hophans
1 exception: Hell ancients.
Fishymancers can go anywhere they want. Buy Arm of King Leoric and a Shako with your Um Pul if you're so inclined, but he can survive with almost anything.
Its true that the fishymancer can do every area in the game pretty much naked. However, he does every area in the game, whether nightmare catacombs or hell WSK, at the same pace, that is a slow and steady crawl. Although his killing speed is very impressive in big groups, the trade off is that without teleport somewhere in his equipment, he's forced to pretty much clear everything as he goes instead of teleing/running past.Originally Posted by Painman
So if you want fast runs, look elsewhere.
Most defentily a fishymancer for go anywhere, a death trapsin for same reasons (if she's built correctly) or a hammerdin for its killing speed (almost as fast as a godly sorc)... only bad part is that builds other than the necro are just too expensive to really enjoy till you have the proper equipment. Wile a fishymancer like stated before dosent need much equipment (trang set and some other parts) I would suggest to take a look at the necro threads and find the fishymancer build or the comandomancer if you like to get up close and dirty. I for one have a sommoner and he deals fairly well with any part of the game (just a bit hard on the WSK when souls are around).Originally Posted by Painman
Light sorcs w/ infinity mercs, or infinity as main weap (then insight /prayer or insight/freeze merc) can take pretty much everything. Conviction breaks the immunities, and whatever else gets killed by merc. If phys immunes + lite immunes (rare) after conv, eTombreaver - or w/e one casts decrep - works too.
