How far will this gear take me?

Hi All,

This particular Barb is on USWest SC/NL.

He is a level 89 concentrate barb. My skill distribution is straight off of Hal's guide and has worked well.

He has def 16k, ar 10k, life 2200

Arreat's w/ 38% ed jewel
Duress armor
Gore riders
Stromshield w/ pdiamond
Doombringer w/sheal (Have had a Hell of a time trying to trade for a Grandfather)
Drac's
Verdung's (I should be able to upgrade to Nos' coil soon)
raven's frost 215 ar
blood ring 11% ls
blood ammy +2 barb skills, 4% ms
dual +3 warcry on switch

Act 2 nightmare merc w/
crown of theives w/ meteor facet
corpsemourn armor w/ith
bonehew w/sheal & Amn

I would like to take on the Diablo clone, but I am not sure that his gear will work or even if it is wise with a concentrate barb?

I would appreciate your opinions and insight.

I'm not too familiar with conc barbs but you will need alot more ar because dclone has very high def.also he has 650000 hit points ,therefore you need a good amount of crushing blow, so it seems that frenzy barb is more suitable to do the job, at least i haven't heard of conc barb taking on dclone...

ik set conc barbs can easily take on dclone due to high crushing blow + good AR set bonuses + high set resistances

once open wounds kicks in on dclone you should be fine

after that it is just a matter of whittling away with crushing blow

get rid of your ammy and get highlords if you can

you don't really need mana leech due to conc's very low cost

get a demon limb on switch for extra AR

I had a NL conc barb that's almost a copy of yours. Only difference was that I used angelic ammy/ring and a raven for the jewelry spot to get CBF and boost my AR. I had very little success taking on the dclone with some very decent damage weapons until I finally got my end-game weapon, Cranium Basher. The Basher's 75% Crushing Blow made all the difference. I also swapped out the raven for a dwarf star to help with Dclone's armageddon attack.

Moral of the story? Get more crushing blow!

Oh, and you should never forget to use battle cry on the dclone as soon as you run into him. Battle cry drops defense by 50% at slvl 1!

Also, if you have a fast swing speed, then lifetap should trigger quickly from draculs, but to be on the safe side, tap him from a wand from a distance first, then move in, battle cry, namelock him with conc and never let go.

If you're on W/NL/SC, I've got a Grandfather sword I'm probably not going to be using. I'm looking for Steelrend Gloves or Gorerider boots in a trade. Got any spares?

lol i got rends but on east why do ppl play west oO its so *** everyone should play east (; and grandfather is not even near the price of rends =} don't try to rip noobs off =)

I like your strategy. I have to take the poor man's approach. I did switch back to High Lord's and I scored a Grandfather with an ed jewel in it :clap: . I seem to be holding strong in 8 player Hell even by myself. So that is good. I don't know if a demon limb would really help me out I have sword mastery max'ed out.

I am a big fan of Battle cry myself

. I think the life tap is a big help for me too. But does Battle cry cance out live tap or does it stack?

I have seen ebotdz, but that is probably as close to having as I will get outside of my dreams. :lol: I am really poor. So, while your gear recommendations are great, I cannot afford to impliment them. Maybe, in time. As far as East vs. West, I think they both have a lot of problems

. I want to be on the realm that is dupe free! If you find it let me know.

I play West/sc/nl & l. I don't need the Grandfather right now, but I will check to see if I have an extra set of Gores. Also, Check Masterzan's FT list I think he has a pair on it. One of the bad things about nl is that we are limited on the rune words we can create. I have been working on ladder lately and it is nice. It even seems like the drops are better and the trading is more affordable.

And while we are on the subject of Crushing Blow, Open wounds, critical & deadly strike, does anyone know off the top of their head how much each one increases the amount of damage or where I can find the link?
