Ugh. Well, I got fired today. I got fired for calling in sick on thursday. And yes, I really was sick. That was the first day I have ever missed, and I only had one tardy...so I get fired for attendance issues.

I would be surprised if you can't bring a case of wrongful termination against them. Everyone is allowed sick days and they cannot rightfully fire you for taking one to my knowledge. Someone with a background in law, back me up or knock me down here.

When you sign most part time applications, you are signing something that says that they can let you go and you can quit for any reason. Obviously if they fire you because you are black, you may have a case, but otherwise, nah.

Sounds like bad luck to me. I'm sure they were under corporate orders to let people go to save $$$, and you happened to take a day off at exactly the right time for them.

Either that, or you were a sucky employee and you deserved it.
