Ugh. Well, I got fired today. I got fired for calling in sick on thursday. And yes, I really was sick. That was the first day I have ever missed, and I only had one tardy...so I get fired for attendance issues.
Stupid Kmart.

I would be surprised if you can't bring a case of wrongful termination against them. Everyone is allowed sick days and they cannot rightfully fire you for taking one to my knowledge. Someone with a background in law, back me up or knock me down here.
That doesn't sound right. It's Christmas season, you'd think they'd be desperate for staff.

Sounds like bad luck to me. I'm sure they were under corporate orders to let people go to save $$$, and you happened to take a day off at exactly the right time for them.
