    Last Laugh 2005?

    Here.

Okay. I'm a bit late, since I watched it from TiVo.

Now what was so funny about it?

I normally like Lewis Black, who was the second opener after Capt. Kirk/Satan, but his material was worse than flat. David Spade can occasionally do well with celeb gossip, but his wasn't any better than Black's.

The only reasonable spot was Carlos Mencia, who despite using his typical "offend everyone" schtick at least worked some decent jokes into it.

But when 3 of the supposed headline comics do nothing blab anti-Shrub fist-in-the-air stuff while Comedy Central plays a laugh track, I found myself using the "skip" programming on my TiVo repeatedly. And even though I'm an old fart, I've heard of plenty of new bands - but not these (Death Cab for Cutie and Yellowcard).

Worst of all was Sarah Silverman. What exactly is supposed to be funny about "singing" Amazing Grace out of her orifices? <<and that was her entire routine>>.

Yeah, comedy central is definitly not what it used to be. You cant just flip it on and start laughing.
Also, Ive never heard of Death Cab for Cutie, but Im pretty sure Yellowcard is a pretty popular band.

Comedy Central goes in very clear cut phases because the shows have such a short run-time/ are often changed on the schedule/ etc.

So like 6 months from now there will be like 10 shows there arent now, mencia will be out of there and probably spade too. Celebrity gossip can suck a nut, no one that watches Comedy Central really cares.

I guess that I was more than a little appalled at what supposedly is their capstone product for the year. An infomercial for Chappelle (discreetly not making any insanity jokes), another not too subtly done for the "Col-ber Re-por" and some uncoordinated booty dancers for eye candy? Sheesh - I think South Park sucks but it is consistently higher quality than this was.

Spade, Mencia, and Black all have at least a little talent. Instead, they're pushing the low end harder than ever...

I agree, doesn't sound funny, that kind of stuff doesn't usually appeal to me anyways. Yellowcard and Death Cab are both fairly popular, no-talent crap bands, Yellowcard is kind of punkish/emo whatever whiny ****, don't know much about death cab except that they too lack skill (it's a pretty safe assumption of any new band since 1985, with a few notable exceptions)

I did not really like yellowcard, then I went to them live, and they were amazing. Plus they played for 2 hours, which was awesome for a band, no one band plays for that long anymore.

But Yellowcard has an electric violin. You didnt get to hear it used to its full potential in that song though. Download, umm, buy Ocean Avenue and listen to the end of it.

But yeah I was not very impressed with Last Laugh. Especially the guy who was talking about Bush looting the treasury. Although I did laugh out loud when he said "Theres a ****** stealin potater chips, shoot that ******!" which surprisingly went uncensored.

Carlos wasn't too bad, but he could've done a lot better. My favorite part had to be Dave Chapelle's sneak peak. The Cribs spoof was pretty good, except for the baby t-rex part.

Lewis Black is my favorite comedian. It would be a crushing blow to see him not be funny. T_T

My roommate listens to Death Cab all the time. I think they are ok but a little bit too soft/easy listening for my taste. Basically if you like Postal Service or maybe stuff like Stereophonics you are going to like Death Cab since Postal Service and Death Cab are basically the same thing.
