i used to play v1.09, then i stopped playing, now i've come back it's v.1.11.
afaik, mephi in nightmare used to be the best bet for MF'ing.
i'm just wondering if it is still the same case today?
regards,
He's still good but not as good as Hell Mephisto. He's the first stop for mid-game items tho! I suggest running the Level 85 areas (The Pits/WSK), Hell Mephisto, Hell Baal (If possible) and the ever-useful Pindleskin. Might I also suggest reading an MF guide of some sort? There are new areas woth MFing in...and others that have been trashed down.
thanks for the useful advice, pal.
yeah i had a look for some MF'ing guides but couldn't find any so i stoppd here.
i have heard people mention "The Pits" - what exactly are they? and WSK?
i ask because i'm doing nightmare mephi with about 450 mf and mininal success. :(
if you could put me in the direction of some useful mf guides and define those terms that would be much appreciated.
regards,
The Pits are located in Act 1 in the Tamoe Highlands. All monsters have immunities in hell and The Pits contain all 3 elements. Easiest way to reach is tru the Outer Cloister.
WSK stands for Worldstone Keep. The place you go to meet Baal in Act 5. Both are Level 85 areas. For more informations about Levle 85 areas: Click me
People say you need 63% Fast Cast Rate in order to teleport down to Durance 3, where Mephisto is hiding and it's true! 63% makes it viable. Besides the level 85 areas, there's not much changes.
One last thing: visit the Single Player Forum and download ATMA. It has an Drop Calculator if you are seeking a particular item.
thanks pal, that was a really informative post and it has helped me out a lot.
thanks again!
regards,
I go through the pits alot.. found my first ohm there...
I go from the blak marsh not for speed but I susually like to hit the countess up for a quickie.. then to the pits..
My 2 cents..
P.S I found the pits the best place to find high end socketed gear.
damn. i must be doing something wrong, haven't even found one unique yet.
well i'll keep it up, until i get something respectable at least.
i've only done about 5 runs mind, while it seems a lot to me, i'm pretty sure it isn't in terms of MF'ing.
regards,
Pit runs are all about speed. IF you can't do them fast (you do them with single element sork with merc's help?) then you can just make a char what will run pits very very fast...
If your just starting out and got nothing, run NM Mephisto and then Hell Mephisto.
You need to remember this:
-Get high MF, makes all those chances to drop goodies more likely to count.
-Second, there are no physical immune monsters in the pit, Strafeazons, take note.
-you kill one Bhaal, you gat up to six great things dropped. But first, you need to get to him, past burning souls, witches and oblivion knights. Plus lister's pack. you get to the pits almost instantly, and you kill act 1 monsters (tough, sure, but negligible compared to the badasses in act 5), which rarely drop anything good, but there are a lot of them...
Got my Windforce there. With a "self made" (first character, the one that starts MF for other characters) skelliemancer.
well, i've just got onto hell meph a picked up duriel's amongst some other low-end uniques. so i'm quite happy with that.
thanks for the advice, guys.
