I seem to be going through a phase of very bad luck, i am now on the verge of calling it a day and hanging up my gloves.

Yesterday i made a silly mistake of effectively throwing away an um rune. I was in a trade game for a 4soc eth cv, someone got there before me so i went to put the cv back in my stash. I had an um rune right next to it in my pack, when i aimed to click the cv i accidentally clicked the rune, then without thinking clicked the cv intending to switch the item with the rune. *bam* um rune socketed in cv. If that wasn't bad enough i had to waste a hel rune to remove it

Later on i was doing Nith runs, no problem there until i got caught in a pack of Guardians. Then suddenly, without explanation, i was dead. I don't know if it was caused by lag or what. I managed to get my body back without any trouble so at least i got some of the exp back. A couple of runs after that i got RD'd for an hour :\

Today was the icing on the cake, I had intended to carry on with the Nith runs. 3 runs in and i got surrounded by a group of ~20 aura (might) charged Blood Lords. Sensing the trouble i done a quick save and exit. I then created a new game and checked my hp, 1.

... i thought i had got lucky. I then noticed my exp bar was empty. I hadn't died but i had been robbed of 20 million exp points. *shrugs*

What's the worst run of luck you have had?

You think that's bad? Wait till you lose all your equipment on your main character.

The first and only 99 character I ever had was a Paladin back in 1.09. I found a +2 Paladin Arkaines with him in cows when he was 98 (easily the best item I've ever found, considering a) their worth back then, and b) how little I ever do mf runs). I leveled to 99 only a few games after that. My first Arkaines and my first 99, all within three games.

Welllllll... less than an hour later, I guess I wasn't thinking clearly, because I lost ALL of his stuff to a stupid scam I NEVER should have fallen for. No more Arkaines for me. No more GA or Herald of Zak or Vampire Gaze or Shaeffers or any of it.

My account with a 85-86 ish sorc got erased by Bnet, with a full tals set perfect travs etc.

And my mules which contained almost a whole stash full of soj's from the chipped gem trade. They also had a ton of runes and crap lying around on my mules.

As far as I know, they aren't.

One of the several times I remember being quite pissed off is when my 93lv sorc died a few times on those souls in the throne.
Lost half bar of exp , and I naturally exited the game so I didn't get any back, either.

Try us west, the lag will cause you to lose things almost every game if you aren't careful with your clicks. I've been attempting to finish the same NM cow run now for well over twenty minutes! Yep, the game freezes so i leave for fear of a lag death and come back. Take a few steps and frozen again, wait a sec while i spam LF and hope for the best. Twenty seconds later some cows die, few more steps lag again. It's really scary when you have about 50 cows rounded up and eveything freezes.

So i finally gave up and logged off. This is pretty much every day on west now. I make the first game of the day and instantly have lag or black walls. If i am able to finish a run, there's a 75% chance that i'll be rolled back anyway so why bother. Sometimes there will be a one or two hour window late at night, just before morning when it's possible to make a few runs without the lag. I guess even duper's take breaks. :rolleyes:

I can tell you it really sucks to accidentally click on some piece of equipment or item in your inventory and have it hit the ground and not be able to pick it back up. You leave the game praying that when you try to enter again it will be there but no.........."game does not exist" is what you get instead. If you're lucky that is, mostly it's a R/D or temp ban for having lagged out of the game due to some duping lil' a-hole(s).

Sorry for your losses, mate. I know it's not comforting to hear another Hardcore player tell you that it's all well and good as long as your character comes back to life, so I'll skip that part. Take a couple days' worth of break, then when you're at your boredest, fire it back up again. Works every time.

yea the lag would be the worst for HC players. i've done some stupid things also so dont feel so bad.

Early in ladder i accidently socketed an ist in some whack shield. i was mad but its just a game.

I lost my entire NL amulet collection, most of my jewel collection and a mule full of good charms last year. Collected and cubed over 3 1/2 years. I was on vacation from D2 and I was still refreshing accounts, but those 3 mules had an earlier expire date than the rest for some reason. I was somewhat upset, but not very, cos yeah, after all it is just a game.
