    About The Character

    Patriarch Liberace was Patted Tuesday November 22 and was inspired by AE himself. Upon reading AE's "Liberace Project" and "Liberace-The Next Generation" threads I thought I'd give the ideal/build a go, of course with my own twist. My Liberace is by no means exactly what I think AE had in mind but it's perhaps a close shot. I took the idea and quickly began putting it to play....within 2 weeks I patted Liberace. The idea was to socket his equipment with rare jewels and have as much light radius as possible for a perfectly bright, radiant and glowing Pally. He ended the game with +20 to light radius and shined and shimmered like you wouldn't believe! It was no easy task Patting Liberace considering he was very limited on equipment but he pulled through just fine, infact the only problems he had were the very latter parts of Hell in the Hall Of Vaught and the Hell Ancients. I didn't have very many rare jewels to work with so I just used what I had....when he first started I had a crown socketed with 3 of them and a shield with 4, once I got to NM I used socketing quests to socket some better equipment with what I had left so he could make it to the end.The build and the idea was tremendous fun and at times laughable but I never got bored......for all you Pally fans out there I highly suggest playing a build similar to this for lots of fun and interesting game play.

    One question though. Why so much strength? Is it a part of the Liberace idea?

    To answer Kefir-Tribes question about the high strength.....I've never done the traditional Pally point distributions where most tend to pump Vitality and just add points to strength where they have enough to use their equipment....instead I've always focused on strength and dexterity because it adds to your physical damage. I've found that for me, as long as I have descent resisitances and high strength/dexterity...I can get by fine in the game without so much life. I guess it just depends on inidividuals playing styles...also as a Froster I max sacrifice because it boosts Zeal damage and then I focus on my second aura of holy shock.

    Naracla, this is a great build and it has an awesome effect when you play. Despite the seemingly overall weakness of the equipment, the char is really rather strong. He eased through the game rather quickly and thus allowing me to finish comfortably at level 80, with my other Patriarchs I was never under level 86....but at the same time I wanted to Pat "GlitterBoy" as fast as I could...he was so fun I couldn't stop playing.

    When I first had the Liberace idea it involved as many sockets as possible--six on the weapon, four on the shield, four on the armor, and three on the helmet. And then use shiny rares in every other slot. Compared to that idea you went with some pretty 1337 gear but I salute your Liberace nonetheless! :drink:

    Yeah, that's what I knew the original concept involved, however I was simply inspired by the build and worked the overall ideal into another form of a Liberace, the stronger version. I didn't do it the original way because I didn't have very many rare jewels....so instead of the jewel idea I went with light radius which I gathered was one main part of the Liberace build AND I didn't think those persons responsible for the original idea had actually played a Liberace in depth or gotten very far with one....as I don't think one completely socketed with rare jewels may be capable of making it too far...my version even with more elite gear had some really tough spots through the game. But, it was really fun!

    Congratulations Miranda :clap: Sure you didn't maximize the jewels, but your version is much "brighter" than anything I might have put together.

    Once again, the SPF has a way of inspiring the most interesting builds around.

    I hope I'm not being stupid asking this, but... what's the use of having +20 to Light Radius?

    Quoting directly from Arreat Summit's Suffixes page:

    "The base Light Radius is 13. The Max Light Radius you can have is 18 so anything more than net +5 to Light Radius will not matter."

    Is there any difference, in your actual experience, with having just +5 and a blinding +20? Just wondering since taking what the AS page said, there wouldn't be any benefit. So, there... waiting for some illumination.
