The Japanese version is much better. I don't find horror movies scary but with the oriental films you just feel a more authentic atmosphere that works properly with the film. they also look and feel original unlike most Hollywood remakes. They're a pleasure to watch :smiley:

japanese versions win without contest. But about the authentic atmosphere in a film: look rosemary's baby!!!! And that's the key ingredient that lacks in most modern horrorfilms.

Only the first 1 was relatively good imo, the 2nd lacked the psychological aspect which was so good in the first one. Saw2 turned out to be a mediocre slasher film. Best one in this genre of the first, is Cube trylogy imo.

Although Battle Royale: Requiem is a bit lame. Too slow paced when they get onto the island and start talking to the kids living there...ah well...

I'm going to push the boat out here, and generalise that Europop is lame...all of it...

I've seen the first and second cubes. The first was quite good I thought, but the second was nowhere near as entertaining and became quite boring in my opinion.

Some nice ideas and elements but it didn't meet my expectations. I couldn't stand the "I won't kill my classmates" "Oh wait maybe I will" dialogue.
