I have a Astreons iron ward lying in my stash collecting dust. As this weapon is extremly rare and is quite wanted by people in the SP trading forum, i was wondering if it has any uses or if it's the extreme rarity which make people want it. Any thoughts?
It's the rarity that makes it so rare! Nevertheless it makes a good zealot weapon thanks to the speed and CB. It's also a very good smiter weapon because of the added 40-85 damage.
If I remember correctly, it is the third most rare item you can find in the uniques pile.
None the less, Ive gotten 2 of 'em off Pindle and a third off a Baal pack.

If usefulness = rarity then the Shako (Harlequin Crest) would be one of the top 5 rarest items. Certainly that's not the case because if you MF long enough you'll get a ton of Shakos.
Astreon's is very, very rare. Considering the amount of MF'ing i've done I only have 1 to show for it. It's a dust collector for me, ATMA-style points and fulfills a Grail space.
Damage +40-85 (varies)
Adds 80-240 Magic Damage (I think is this is OK)
33% Chance of Crushing Blow
Slows Target By 25%
+2-4 To Combat Skills (Paladin Only) (varies)
+10% Increased Attack Speedn (-10 WSM)
It pretty muchs pwns as a PvM Smiter weapon. Excellent speed, CB, +skills and slow target make it just rock. The +damage is added after everything else (it doesn't show up on the LCS), and bypasses % and straight DR (which is why the mod is so good in PvP, as it ignores DR and the PvP penalty of 1/6)
Too bad for the slow target, or every PvP Vindicator would be running pindle/baal like mad for one.
As for zealots, there are better weapons out there that are cheaper and not as rare.
