I have yet to meet someone banned for using bots. I've seen scores of people squashed off the realms over maphacks, but not bots - even though according to even the various bot creators, it is easily detectable..

Don't most bots use a maphack as well? Hard to see how else those Baalbots would be so fast.

Anyway, that's beside the point, I think. The danger is always there when you break the EULA; if a stern warning helps to get someone off botting, I'm happy, whether Blizz does something about it or not.

i just got temporarily restricted from the realm... and all i did was log on, sit in a game for like 25 minuits while i ate... and then started running solo hell baal runs... i think i did 2 runs and i was dissconnected on my 3rd while killing lister :(

it dosent seem quite fair, i have swapped on characters for about 15 minuits non stop and never got temp restricted... mueling etc

and no i use no maphack or any 3rd party mods... unless blizzard has something against mozilla and itunes running while the game is... i dunno why i was just temp restricted

I think it has something to do with how many times you have got it the last week or so.
The first time I got it it only was for 10-15 min...After that i had it for one-two hours. Then it went up to 10 hours, and after that I dident have it for a few weeks, and it went down to 10-15 min, but back up again to 10 hours :(

What they could do if they dont remove this is to put up a time line so you know when to come back so you dont need to try over and over all the time to logg into you account

I wasn't even muling or joining games, just come back from a smoke join a pub game, then went straight to meph, died and exited and the message came up

its a temp ban on your IP, i have got countless restrictions from MF running however there is a cure but its not 100% for everyone. Resetting your router will get you back on the reason it doesn't work for everyone is based on the router you use. Most routers will gain a new IP from the ISP DNS Server each time its reset now theres 2 reasons it might not work.

one: your ISP doesn't allow you to have more than one IP
two: your router doesn't gain a new IP(usually the case with old routers)

Most ISP's actually have a service where they allow you to have new IPS each time the router connects to your ISP usually at a small extra cost, if the problem = number 1 you should give them a call and see if they can do it for you. I hope this is useful for some people.

A MUST!!! make sure you completely close down your D2 Client otherwise it will not work then you have to reset again.

I have done it 100's of times and Blizzard doesn't actually know you do it, they apply a lock on the IP and release the lock after a set period of time. They don't apply any restrictions on the account and never tie it with the IP.
All they see is the IP creating and joining games to fast or long times of inactivity so they temp ban the IP to release stress on the server. You open a game with a new IP its like a completely new person to them.

Only times they tie accounts and CD Keys is usually breaking the EULA which means 3rd party tools etc but you would get either account is closed (8) or your CD Key is restricted from the realms. Thats a different matter and this method will not work
