How do you name your character?

Most of my character names are either based on some lame team science joke (my TWD characters are Voltage, Current, and Resistance), or really descriptive (Here_Fishy and Frosty). However, two came from other games, you should all get one of them, but who can tell me where they both come from?

"For me, names on characters are important. I may even hold off starting a character for days if I canīt come up with a good name right away...

The names come from all over the place:

Mythology/religion: Brynhilde, Artemis, Diana, Odysseus, Io

Fantasy characters from somewhere else: Herne, Jules, Gabrielle, Whaizzzzg, Elayna, Isorion

Descriptive/associative: Venus, Stabber, BladysHighkick, SniperBlazie, Slump-Maja, Lucky, Ursus, Fattigman, HotBabe, Bones, VenomousVixen

"Normal" names that I think are cool, goofy and/or beautiful: Angelina, Carol, Mike, Jake, Surya, Laverne

Names I made up: Adriella, Ai-san, Treena

Homages to some people: Sapphidia, Sten, Bengt


and my favourite category:

to get an advantage in a tournament: Aaliyah!"




And, for drying out load, how can anyone choose to have an underscore (_) in a charater name? Itīs so ugly! IMO, it ruins the whole aesthetics of the word(s).

I always go Nibiru-..., hence my forum name. Some examples. Nibiru-Mancer (Necro), Nibiru-lyc (shapeshifting druid), Nibiru-orb (meteorb), Nibiru-Baba (barbarian).

Meh, I think I've answered this one a half dozen times now.

I'm a bit boring, and name my characters after family members. I have quite a large family, so this isn't too difficult. I rarely use the exact name, but some variation, e.g for my TWD characters:

Sylvya (sorceress) after my grandmother Sylvia
Nathalie (amazon) after my niece Natalie
Jaque (barbarian) after my nephew Jack

and MANY others...
