You can change their names with ATMAOriginally Posted by Quicksilver
Usually I use names from mythology (My TWD characters are named after pleiades - nymphs from Greek mythology), fantasy books/games, normal names etc. I have a set of names that I use in every RPG game: Archeon (mage), Goro (barbarian warrior), Viraya (warrior female), Shadow (ninja/rogue), Sara / Sarah (bow rogue/zon/ranger). Unfortunatly Shadow doesn't match any build in D2...
Also here is a link to Fantasy name generator that gives me some inspiration if I need it.
Can ponder for an hour on appropriate names, rather dull sometimes, having a build in mind but no name...
Some names:
Suriel: fish
nepeta: LF/PlJ zon
Erynye: avenger
Salikario: fury/feral druid
Katzenminze: cubeadin (l17 thorns/might/xxx/adinf pally with a cube, adept at burning Pgems)
and boring names like
Elektra: lightning sorc
Zappa: FO/FW sorc
Zephyr: wind druid
borea: blizz sorc
I use names from Swedish history and Nordic mythology, names like Carolus Rex (the latin name for Karl XII, a warrior king, i usually use Carolus as my "main" character in every game i play, for example my Undead Warrior in WoW, or the Nord male in Morrowind), or other names from Swedish wars, like Wrangel, Königsmarck, Rehnskiöld amongst many others. Otherwise just the Tor, Oden, Freja type of names.
Well, more names than I'll ever need. Lotsa great names being used I see. Oh, sorry Jude, for stealing the topic and all. I guess I *should* have used the search button, but ah well, can't change that now. It's not like you have the copyright on them, right? That reminds me, now that FBob is away, there's nobody to do the top 5 threads.... mmmh....there's an idea....![]()
By the way, my first ever character was named after... me.... Yeah I know, not very original, but I was twelve at the time....
Yup me too. And I'm guessing Milamber and Miranda like 'em too. Btw, is it Puc or Puck in English? I might use it but I'd like to do it correctly.+15 points to your cool meter (I love those books)
No problem, man. Like I said, it always makes a fun topic. And I'm sure many people have done it before us.Originally Posted by Maurice
BTW, it's Puck in English.

i can't! that's why i don't have a sorceress yet!!!
well, an appropriate name should be that of a powerful and major, non-evil fictional character, mythological figure or a hero. what makes it limiting is that the original owner of the name not only should match the D2 character's gender and class, but also the build. for example, Wallace (after the Scottish hero) is a good barb name, but not for a frenzier. if i ever make a 2hander zerker though...
i wish all D2 characters were male. there are much fewer female names that fit my criteria :( (which is also related to the complex builds of female chars--like a Meteorb containing elements of both fire and ice)
btw, any suggestions for a bone necro (before hours of googling about the details on the original owners of these two names)? Merlin or Raistlin?

Its just a quirk I have about being "perfect from the start".
Names I've used since the game was released, mostly necros, sources should be fairly obvious...

So you can play them whenever you want?Originally Posted by Tasdaz
I used to use the prefix "Liquid" for all my characters (LiquidSteel, LiquidSoul, LiquidWolf, etc), but then changed to just any names that sounded neat to me (Jadyn, Euthanasia, Lobo, Murdercat) with a few of my favorite game monsters thrown into the mix (SoullessKaa, Achmel). I tried to be original for the most part with few generic choices. No WindWalkers, Beowulfs, or Achilles in my ranks.
