Equipment decisions for CL/FO sorc in Hell

I play SP twinked, so I must rely on whatever I find and an eternally countess-running paladin for equipment.

My problem is to balance +skills with defensive capabilities on a limited budget.

On resists, I have 22 res all and 52 lightning. Would it pay off to trade my +3 lightning for a 28% resist all on a lvl 73 CL/FO sorceress? I have +3 all skills in the rest of my equipment. My concern is that L and CL only gives ~2K max right now, and I think it is on the low side. Skill points: Max CL, CM, working on Lightning

Spirit (+2 skills & mana) or Cresent Moon (-35% light resist) weapon? I have no shields for spirit, but a 4s Broad Sword around somewhere (I dont bash people, I fry them)

    In addition, I use
    Gloom armor (switch for Vipermagi?)
    Sanctuary shield (57% res)
    Frostburns
    Sanders boots (looking for improvement)
    Ring +106 mana
    Manald Heal
+3 shiver armor staff on switch
Lore helmet (Go for Tals or Vamp Gaze for dam reduction?)

Most runes below Um are feasible, as stated I run the Countess (And does so in 6 min average)

    Thx in advance for help,

    -Kanonfutter

Ok first off, I'm going to assume you're not the richest in the world so you can't afford Chains of Honour etc... sorry if this is a wrong assumption but I doubt it lol.
In hell you will want resists, since otherwise you can be 1hit KO way too easily. A Spirit sword will net you resists, FCR, FHR, +2 skills - all things nice . Crescent Moon is good, but doesn't compare.
I don't know your Orb dmg, but it probably won't be very high, and CL is only good for high levels.
    More equipment suggestions:
More resists can be gotten from a 4 soc, PDiamond shield, if you have the Strength to use one.
Tals and Vampgaze are sort of lost on a sorc... they benefit Melee char's much more. Try to grab a Shako (DR, skills, stats) and maybe socket it with Um.
There are lots of good Boots. I like Silkweaves as a mid-range item. Tearhaunch give some resists I think (about 10).
Can't remember what the stats are on Gloom. But remember that Resists are more important than defense, and Vipermagi is a decent armour.
Rest of your stuff looks okay, or would be too expensive to switch out .
    Hope that helped a bit.

I use wizardspike + moser /w 2 PDiamonds. With 3 Mara quests, they together give me +168res in hell, so i can focus on other important things like +skills in rest equips.

Thank you for your replies, however getting the shako would rely on luck, and I do not feel like trying to run Hell Meph yet (Still in H2). Trading is not an option. So I am basically stuck with the gear I have and whatever runes I can run from the Countess. Would it pay off to run Hell Andy with no +MF (I have no such equipment)

Gloom is 45 res all and this one ~1500 def (basically a glorified Smoke). I will try Tearhaunch, which happens to be in my Atma, but I think I will stick to Trangs Belt for CBF. Further, I have a +1 skill 14% res all amulet.

Ok sorry, didn't notice you're on single player.
If you want max gear, then you can just download the Atma library of elite items... that will set you up sweet.

Spirit runeword won't work in SP unless you have a mod.

I'm not sure, but crescent moon might be only in polearms, so you might want that one your merc.

Generally, stick with whatever you want from the gear you find otherwise. Remember, using Atma you can dupe all the items you find by saving them as an item file.
