    How many minions for summoners?

Hey I started getting into the summoner craze despite myself and I was wondering: how many summons should each of the summon type necros have (ie. poison/bone hybrid and pure summon). I'd like a low-high kind of thing or twinked/untwinked so I can place myself in some kind of range. Also how many skill points are spent on the average build.

An answer to that would point you to the builds thread.

You know... one of the stickied threads...

I really can't tell you, because I'm still kinda new to the whole Necro Terminology.

(sorry if that sounds kinda sarcastic or mean...)

Pure summonner: max skele, mastery and mages. 1 point in revives (or more if you insist), summon resist, golem.

    Without +skills, you would have 8 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 (merc) minions.
With a lot of +skills, you would have a few more skeles and mages, and a lot more revives. (revives are 1 lvl for 1, skeles are 3 lvl for 1)

They are well worth maxing, since they do some very nice damage in a group.

Don't shoot for a specific number, max the skills you want for whichever build and then just be happy with however many you can get out of it with +skills.

I d say first of all you should decide what your character is going to be. If you want a poisonmancer with some meat shields or you want a summoner with some secondary skill to aid your skelletons. The number and quality of summoneds depends on how many points you invest in summoning skills and your +skills items. If you are uncertain about how many points you should spend for each variant then you can allways consult the guides in this forum to give you an idea on how to spend your points to make a viable char, you dont want to finish him just to realize he s somewhere in the middle and not really good at anything :-/

On my fishy, I think I have either 10 or 12 skeles depending on gear, and I try to keep them all up all the time. Add gumby and the merc, and you have my traveling party.

I also have a point in revive and mage, so with +skills there could really be an army, but I have found that they aren't really necessary for regular game play and it becomes a pain to keep up with all of the pets.

I don't know if that answered your question or not, but to sum up for the pure summoner, max skeles, build a good golem and a decent merc, and a point in revive can't hurt, though you probably won't use all of your revives most of the time.

If people aren't complaining about lag you don't have enough. More seriously in a party shoot for 12+ skellies when not in summon gear. I would go with mages to if you have nigma. When you are alone the more you have the better it is IMHO. I like revives more than most people, I think there are places, Baals throne room for example, where an extra 15 summons makes a big difference. They can be annoying in other places though. The summon build really start to work in hell when you have 35+ to raise skeleton.

    Really depends on your gear.

For me, I got to 20 skelly warrior but dropped down to 16 when I switched to Beast.
