Whats the deal with the ubers? Im sorry if this is a stupid question but i haven't played in over a year. How do u activate them and how hard are they to kill? and whats this torch i keep hearing about? any info you can provide on this topic will be much appreciated.

Also, im having trouble connecting 2 b-net. I just reinstalled d2 and d2 expac and i have v 1.07. Im trying 2 connect 2 b-net but its stuck on the message "checking versions"...anyone know whats up? Ive got dway satelite internet connection and its nearly as fast as a dsl, and allof my other online functions are working well and fast, but it seems to be stuck here. any ideas?

You might have to configure your firewall to open the ports that d2 uses. The whole 'uber' thing is something new in 1.11 you fight all three bosses together and they have minions and stuffs.

i wasn't aware that i had a firewall unless dway automatically comes with 1. How would I go about doing that? and the uber information is helpful but how do i choose to do it?

First, you should probably download the latest patch manually through Blizzards website (http://www.blizzard.com/support/?id=mdt0387p). Then try and connect to battle.net and see if the same problem still occurs.


With regards to the uber's: With the release of patch 1.11, you are able to collect keys (Key of Terror, Key of Hate and Key of Destruction). These keys are dropped from certain monsters each (Countess, The Summoner and Nihlathak respectively).

If you go to act 5 hell, and transmute 3 keys (one of each) in the cube, you'll open a portal to one of the first uber areas (Uber Izual, Uber Duriel or Lilith). You'll need to transmute 3 sets of keys (ideally in the same game) to gain access to all three of these first uber bosses. Each of these three bosses drop an organ each.

Once you have all 3 organs, and transmute those in Act 5, you'll open a portal to Uber Tristram, which has Uber Meph, Uber Diablo and Uber Baal. It's from these guys that you'll get a torch (large charm with a random +3 to class skill) and a standard of heroes (I believe it's 1 standard of heroes per person in the game).

Generally, it's better to collect 9 keys (3 of each type), and transmute them one at a time in the same game. Only transmute the next keyset after you've collected the first organ, just incase the game disconnects.

k I understand it all now tyvm. I dl'd the 1.11b patch manually and let it upgrade and i still get stuck at the checking versions message. Im not sure how to configure my firewall so that D2 can use the proper ports, so if someone who's comp smart here would mind helping me I would greatly appreciate it.
