If not that means a lightning sorceress can solo hell with an infinity merc.
You are forgetting that mercs do physical damage, so the only problem are the hard-LI/PI combos. Which aren't that much of a problem, since you can always teleport past them.

That's only four monsters I have to worry about, excluding Magic resistant / Lightning enchanted uniques. But for all the 100% Lightning resist immunes does conviction still work at 1/5 effectiveness? Meaning they will have 83% resists instead of 15% resists? Also for these 115% LR they will still have 98% lightning resists which is still hella hard to kill :(
Don't forget that "quest monsters" in Act V have different resistances than in their normal area. For lightning immunes, it's usually lower. (For example, I know I can break Burning Souls and Scarabs with Lower Resist charges in WSK, but not in their original areas)
EDIT- For killing the LI, it's good to have lightning facets and Griffon's Eye after their immunity is broken.
Yes I included Steel Scarab from both Act 2 and Act 5, not Burning Soul though since it has 100% Light resist in Act 5.

Uber Mephisto - 110% LR
Do you think -25% LR Griffons > Shako ?
