Hello.
I used to play d2x hc for life since a few years back but with 1.10 and all the hacks and cheats I quit playing.
But now, with the new patch, and to celibrate getting a new laptop me and two friends where planning a d2x single player LAN.
We want to be able to easily kill Baal in hell, and be able to run free on the summit of mount arreat so to say.
What is the best party set-up you would say?
Where thinking a Barbarian (WW, battleorders and shout) with a might merc.
A Sorcress (frozen orb, good telekenisis for teleport) with holy freeze merc.
And a paladin (blesses hammer, concentration, salvation) with a defiance merc. This way we get lots of damage for barb and mercs(conc+might), lots of defence for everyone in the party(shout+defiance) and great crowd control with orb and holy freeze.
Since we start from scratch we can't know that we'll have good enough gear but with these auras and skills we should be able to atleast survive. But, if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
Also, I want to know, since I've not playes single player in 4-5 years, what works in single player? Can Uberdiablo spawn? or any of the new 1.10 monsters? Do all uniques spawn? All runewords?
As you probably can see, I need a little help.
thank you!

Just play anything you like (fun-faktor is important), each of these 3 is capable of solo-ing the game so the 3 combined should do just fine.
Within D2 LOD "Vanille":Originally Posted by gedda-d-e
Uberdiablo -> no
new 1.10 monsters -> no
all uniques -> no (all but the 2 unique charms from the above mentioned monster drop though)
all runewords -> no (the extra runewords from 1.10 are not available for SP)
if you play outside of the "vanille" box, with mods allmost everything is possible.

As, said, those are three builds that can solo, so they'll be fine together.
If you really want a walk in the park, find combinations that really help one another. Consider, for example, an Avenger and any combination of sorceresses. The lowered monster resistances make for very quick pickings, although the Avenger might feel like he is being abused for his aura and not contributing much. Its also worth keeping a sorceress around for Static Field.
Monster HP doesn't increase by 100% for each player, so just pick something you enjoy playing, and you'll find that the three of you are still pretty effective at killing, since the monsters will only have 200% life on 3 players.
Avenger, Lightning sorc and Martial Artist (elemental) Sin. (If you want to have some fun.)
Cheesy trio: Hammerdin, Fishymancer, Blizzardess
Hrus: Haha.. that IS a funny trio. The fishy will be pissed by the blizzardess no doubt. So what does the hammerdin do?![]()
We ruled the necro out because of the incredible lagg it creates when it has a good farm. but what in zeuz butthole is a fischymancer?Originally Posted by Hrus
And why do you prefer a blizzsorc before an orb sorc?
And how about skipping the hammerdin for an elemental druid with a good spirit?
A Fishymancer is a Skelemancer. Some people refer to it as a Fishymancer because a player called it that and Nightfish included it in his Skelemancer guide. Not really warranted; a very simplistic and logical build, but it of course doesn't matter.Originally Posted by gedda-d-e

No comment on my three man party?
Yeah, your party seems extremely hell-viable.
The Barb could be just about anything you feel like playing, Conc, Frenzy, WW or Berserk Barb. They all use Battle Orders any way. I just don't suggest Concentrate, it's slow as hell, and a single killer. I'd go for Frenzy, and get as much Crushing Blow as possible.
The Blizzard sorc actually does much more damage then the Orb sorc, if you decide to invest in the synergies, 5 K damage is easily attainable, so it literally rips every non-Cold Immune monster apart, due to the -res from Cold Mastery.
The Hammerdin is of course.. well the Hammerdin. Cheesy, but huge damage, with very few monsters immune to magic damage.
