All I was saying is that a JAVAzon is a very good "Party" member to have, reguardless if there gear is or isn't UBER.

EDIT: i just solo'd the furance of hate, my first portal (i went to help the meph group before i even had 3 keys). it took about 10 or 20 minutes. isual died in like 15 seconds although he hit pretty hard when he connected. he is extra fast and teleports. the lead-up quests obviously arent that hard. and i had to take my sweet time too because of iron maiden. please stop patting yourself on the back about being zoro and having a godly build.
I got the matron's den portal to lilith FOUR times i na row today, so it seems to be completely random... made 5 portals, 4x lilith, 1x durielOriginally Posted by acceleration turkey

is any particular arena considered "the hard one?" is there a "hard boss?" i mean out of the 3 sub areas. i just did the furnace like i said above and it was pretty fun, but not a real brain buster. everyone had high hp, the balrogs are immune to all but physical, and the curses are a pain. izual was uneffective even though i have 38% cold res and a ravenfrost. a melee hit + frost nova from him did maybe 600 damage.
did you notice any monsters in the duriel or lilith areas which were both magic and physical immune? if so it means i cant solo those areas with my barb so im curious as to the limits before i open a portal.

it proves nothing. i just solo'd an area and beat the boss in seconds with a frenzy barb, one of the weakest builds in the game. i have no shield and no damage reduction. i fight at close range. there was iron maiden everywhere. its obviously very easy to do, and you have no credibility in recommending a build as being valuable or strong because youve demonstrated nothing. a javazon is certainly a useless party member since it contributes nothing to the party in terms of auras and only adds a single element of raw damage which a sorc can do better at. i think ill pass.
calling yourself zoro is ridiculous. the guy who started this thread is zoro because hes helping more people for free than you ever will since you are intent on wasting space and puffing yourself up. find a new thread. this one is for information, not anecdotes.
Well, I think I may be the first light sorc to post...maybe not...
Got the first portal to Furnace of Pain. My light sorc (Infinity merc, 30k dam) was not effective agains the Pit Bosses - they are immune to everything except physical. I managed to tele around them, and find Izzy.
I hit Izzy with my full light - took him to 2/3 life in a few seconds, but took a pounding from the Pit Bosses - so went to town to heal. I returned seconds later, and Izzy was fully healed. So I took a deep breath, and held down the lightning while popping some full rejuvs. Took a few seconds, and 8 full rejuvs, but Izzy was dead. Grabbed the brain and tele'd away from the nasty Immune to anything Pit Bosses. So far - not bad. Kinda worried about the final guys tho...
Thanks for the guide and for the pics. I don't play anymore, but I was eager to see the new stuff. Nice patch too, this one. Have fun!
That frost zealot would do well against uber diablo and baal but mephisto would probably kill you instantly. Rapid zeal hits + extreme conviction on you + lightning enchanted = gg melee characters.
For some reason I can't find the option to edit my original post again, but I just helped another forumer (Gidlee) all the way from killing the level bosses to taking out the trio. What was freakishly effective? A zealot with moderate gear and a Doom Leap barb.
I'll explain:
My zealot was my first character when I started playing again, so like in all those situations my stat points weren't too well distributed in order to accommodate for poor quality gear. However, he did have a point in salvation and zeal maxed, along with it's synergies and fanatacism. It was pretty much outfitted with the gear from Pougee's Dclone killer build. When alone with the bosses, the char is pretty much unstoppable thanks to life tap + a fast zeal, and with tons of crushing blow and deadly strike it whittled down the bosses pretty quickly.
The barb's skills focused on WW and BO, two crucial skills for obvious reasons. He sported 2x Doom Zerker axes, giving him a nice high level fanatacism aura, which then overflowed onto the zealot.
How did this work?
It was pretty simple. We both had life tap wands on the switch, so was soon as we encountered any major groups of summoned creatures we'd tap them, then zeal/ww them to death. However, leap is a nasty little trick that allowed my zealer to dominate all the bosses with relative ease, including Meph. With his 2x Doom's level 18 fanat (stacked), I got a major IAS boost and went using salvation (1 point wonder) instead. With mercs using defiance and my salvation, Meph's conviction did nothing to us.
Then it was just a matter of him leaping around the bosses, knocking all the monsters away while I zealed away and let my crushing blow and deadly strike do the work. Just 2 chars dominating the trio!
