I don't really get the reaction of people that are like "I'm through with getting games from blizzard". I can only speak for myself, but I got my money's worth tenfold long before 1.11. 1.10 was already a lot more than could be asked for, imo. I don't see a lot of companies patching games after that long (actually I don't know anybody besides blizzard that does), let alone completely rebalancing games at that point and adding new content on top of that.
Yes, I'm disappointed with 1.11, too. Haven't read completely through what people dug out of the mpqs but to me it seems all "we" got is 7 runewords most of which suck. And getting the FE Fix two years too late is kinda meh, as well. I'd have loved to see a fix for some of the other bugs. Fend, for example. Would be nice if each skill was useful for something, as well. Especially those that aren't even prereqs or synergies for something (blade shield). But you can't win 'em all.
Despite all of that, I am still happy with the job blizzard does / did on D2. Why? Counting just patch 1.10 I got over 1.5 years of intensive gaming out of their product. For the 70$ or so that cost me that's definetly a good deal as far as I am concerned.
And if they add new stuff to b.net but not to SP I can count on RTB to make that available for those who want to use it.
Dunno, but I think if you try to see the good side of everything stuff doesn't seem so bad.
With all that said and done, I'm staying in 1.10 for now. Don't really see any compelling reason not to. My items are tainted no matter what and I'm definetly not starting over for the third time.
Hmm, Nightfish pretty much said what I intended to. I don't think Blizzard owes me anything, but on the other hand it does sort of suck when b.netters get new bosses and such. Still, I could whine and moan about it for a long time... not like I'm going to stop playing D2Cursed addictions.
Venting helps as far as those stupid keys go though...
Poor little SP![]()
Then the brightside shows itself; FE fix... and pretty keys to collect and trade.

really dissapointed here too. if they wanted to say 'screw you SP players, live in the 21st century and game online' they should have announced that the major addition were realm only ahead of time and reset the ladder.
oh well.
so, moving on with what we did get... if my merc is wearing that new armor will he cast a valk of his own?
I don't think anyone is disagreeing with you or Nightfish. Blizzard doesn't owe us anything, but we don't owe Blizzard anything either. The problem isn't the past, D2 had been great, 1.10 is great and 1.11 appears to be better.Originally Posted by Plutoxin
The problem is the future. Blizzard is sending a clear message that SP'ers belong in a dark, damp, bare walled caves while online players get castles. Blizzard's been great but if you want to play SP in the future, expect damp, dark caves from blizzard, not spacious palaces.
From what I read, the game crashes.Originally Posted by happyfamine

All too true, JJ. The path Blizz is taking is exactly what we expected when 1.10 came out; an emphasis on online play, most likely gearing D2 players for a MMORPG style D-3.Originally Posted by jjscud

Blizzard can rot in the hell(s) they created. I said wayyyy back around the release of 1.10 that they obviously didn't care about players who weren't playing on haxor.net, and I think it's pretty much proven.
I'd like to offer something more constructive to conversation here, but since I haven't patched and unless Blizz releases another quick one in the next week or so, or RTB and/or Thrugg post a good mod to mirror the realms in SP, I won't be patching. They fixed FE, great. Couldn't they fix the gloams? And even worse than the gloams, I'm going to go out on a limb and assume the poison vipers in halls of vaught are lethally bugged as ever.
After a night and a good amount of sleep, I'm still not really disappointed. We can go on with whatever we've been doing before with the exception of chars based on the 'synergy bug'. We got an official FE fix and at least some runewords. These perhaps aren't endgame stuff but I think they help mid-game, especially untwinked.
People who don't want to use mods now have the ability to stay vanilla and have at least some things fixed that others fixed with mods.
I think I'll switch to 1.11 as soon as the tourneys I'm currently in got either finished or accept the new patch, and we have an ATMA that doesn't crash on the new items. Perhaps ATMA could even convert stashes from 1.10 to 1.11 since the format of the item data seems unchanged.
I can verify that the game crashes. You can see the wonderfull Valk sitting there frozen. Its rather frustrating. Yet another dissapointment.Originally Posted by necrolemming
I'm not so upset with this patch, as much as just dissapointed. What the SPers get, is a minor upgrade while people on battle.net get a whole new quest. Now, there's a whole stack of runewords, a couple of uniques and a would be "fun" quest that we're left without. And just when I thought there could be something cool, nope.. game crashes. :(
