Okay, other than the posting on www.battle.net and www.blizzard.com titled
"A Call to Heroes!
Great evil has returned to the world of Diablo 2. Will you answer the call to save Sanctuary?"
which reports only the following information:
"Patch 1.11 is coming.... "
and has four screenshots, is there any other OFFICIAL information out there? By official I mean something on a Blizzard owned website, or something from a reliable news organization (e.g. PC Gamer, Computing Gaming Monthly, etc.) that specifically quotes by name a Blizzard spokesperson/employee? Please don't tell me anything about that Chinese website, I can make up whatever fantasy rumors I want to in other languages too.
Everybody says this patch is coming on Monday. Where is the source of that information?
EDIT: I know the realms will be down Monday. Anybody actually have non-speculatory proof that it's for the patch and not just some maintenance?
Please don't reply to this unless you have specific credible information with proof that directs people to a Blizzard website or otherwise credible news source.
It's as official as it gets with Blizzard!
Or would you rather like GFraizer to make a semi serious posting on bnet forums about it?I don't think so...

We can't be sure what they're going to do in those 4 hours of downtime for every D2 realm, but patch+reset sounds possible. Blizzard never tells the reason for these realm downs so we can only speculate. They almost always use the term "down for maintenance".
two separate pieces of news that have been linked together, either it will happen on monday or it won't
Errrr, its battle.net and blizzard.com...what more proof do you need??? Sheesh...
And can we please read the 50 1.11 threads already posted before coming out with another one?
Well, I was kinda hoping for real, reliable information. I have read about 250 of the posts on that sticky, and honestly, they were a waste of my time. I was hoping people would reply with good information from reliable sources, but seeing the first reply was "my daddy works for Blizzard" I wish I could undo the post. I should have figured that other than "patch coming" and "realms down on Monday" nobody knows anything for sure and it'd be a waste of time to even check. And GOD I wish you had actually read my message. I know it's battle.net and blizzard.com, but they have very little actual information that they're giving out in those official posts, so I was looking for **more information** from **reliable sources**. Reliable sources does not equate with 600 exuberant messages dealing with some Chinese website of unknown repute.Originally Posted by 5Ws

ya dont get mad for me posting this but, wasnt the west down once for maintenance allready this season? And wat if every one is all tweeking over nothing, but i dont put blizzard past doing things with no warning so i guess we have to wait and see
Blizz will likely give some notice before a reset, they gave about a week last time and said they will always have some sort of announcement.
A reset will likely coincide with 1.11.
It's very little notice of a reset if they were to announce it right now.
Perhaps the maintence is needed before a patch can be applied, and they are just getting things in order.
Blizzard also said 1.10 was the final D2 patch and that there were no plans for a new oneOriginally Posted by Merick
. Don't you believe them .
Could they be "pre-patching" on monday?Originally Posted by Merick
As in setting the realms up for the patch and reset. Installing the bulk of 1.11.
That way they just have to install any future updates, and activate it. We know this is possible since they have done the same before with runewords. Installing them on the realms. But just not activating them.
Just an idea though.
