Zone out at work

So on the drive to work today they were talking about the movie Office Space, and how Peter told the Bob's that he generally comes in late and then zones out for a while. They then said how the average person zones out on the internet or whatever at work for 2 hours. Do you think that this is accurate? I know that I spend at least 2 hours while at work on these forums, and in the trade forums I do see alot of "I'll look for you later I'm at work right now."

I read something about that this morning in the paper but it was not only people using the internet but also leaving work to run errands and stuff like that.

2 hours. Hmm..... could be pretty accurate! Out of the 8 I think 2 are spent by posting (and reading) stuff on this forum. 1 is spent on the bathroom or on the way to the fridge (I don't drink coffee, just A LOT of juice). 1 is spent having lunch. 1 is spent reading useless notes and articles.

That leaves 3 hours of work. Pretty damn good! 3 HOURS of work a day! :clap:

Yes, I'd say 2 hours easily a day spent on non-work related stuff. And that doesn't include ciggie breaks....

I'm currently in between jobs, so I'm workin with a family friend, doin lawn maintenance. It's better money than I thought it would be. And I get off work at around noon everyday.

But I always thought 'zone out' just meant sitting around and not doing anything at all, like staring at the wall. At my old job as the lone valet at a fancy restaurant and bed and breakfast, I spent most of my time reading. At one point I was reading about 200 pages a day.

I usually waste about 3 hours in the morning on the internet, I dip out at 10:30 to go work out, and eat lunch sometimes hanging around til 12:30. Then i MIGHT work for about 2 hours, or until my girlfriend gets back from class so I can just chat with her on aol for the remainder of the day.

So yeah, my general ammount of work is about 0-2 hours a day.

i'm currently working for local city all as engineer co-op, sometimes i'm phone duty and i'll just fwd it to my desk so its seems like i picked it up then i just delete all my useless voicemalls

i play various puzzele i find on the internet, view all kinds of sites.

that bring to lunch

then i might open my mail, view so mroe forums, and sometimes theres work during these.

like right know i'm eating a salad, i'd gone to lunch already, i think i might spend some time in washroom later :P. not working either.

I surf 7 of the 8 hours that i'm at work. The other hour i do work-related things. Sometimes i take a ****.

But then again, i'm only a paid intern at a non-profit organization.

i wish i could zone out at work. both of my jobs are fast paced.
