Dont know why he didn't say it hear but Shaperla said he got robbed the other day at work.
Got robbed this morning. After 10 hours of work from last night.
Black guy, mid 30s, scraggly beard. About 5'7", 145, red Allen Iverson 76ers jersey, white bulls hat. Black girl, late teens, early 20s, black shirt with fat albert on the back. Black pull on beanie thing.
Guy came up to my station, had a pack of gum, rang it up, he paid in mixed change, opened the register to drop it, didn't notice she had the door propped open. I started sorting the change, he dived across the counter, grabbed at the money in the drawer and they were scrambling out the door.
Turns out he got roughly 135 bucks all in 5's.
Spent a bit of time dealing with police, etc. Don't know whether I will get fired over it, although the company, as I understand it, prefers to fire people who get robbed so they don't have to deal with it.
Rather surprised. No shakes, no apparent issues other than a few butterflies. I guess thats because there wasn't any overt threat to me.
3 hours later, still can't sleep though.
He has a strong will and prob don't need it but lets all give him some emotional support by posting how much the druid forums loves him!

Modified Smash and Grab? You're lucky, Shap. Normally they'd clock you, then take the money. I'm glad you're all right and I'm glad they didn't have a gun or knife on them (bad memories...).
Next time shoot them.
In my opinion, if the company decides to handle such matters by firing the employees, they deserve to get robbed dry and then some.
I too am glad you're ok, tho'. And I have to agree with Verashiden about the luck part. Many are not that fortunate.
The robbery happened Saturday morning around 515-530 AM. At the end of the day cash count they found the store short $134.35, so I was pretty close on my estimate of being $135 short from the robbery.
I am not getting fired. I should clarify. The reason they would fire someone who gets robbed is largely due to amounts of money in the register at the time of the robbery and how much is taken. We are not supposed to have more than $250 in the register at any time. Occasionally, during a rush, some of us will wind up with $2500-3500 in the register, largely due to money orders, and a huge amount of customers during some of our rush periods. At the time of the robbery I had approximately $300 in the drawer. Still not really enough to get me fired, but enough that if the robber got all of it I might have been in more trouble.
Frankly, I would have rather they used a knife or a gun. That would be easier to deal with personally. I have had people pull knives on me before and slept peacefully. Losing money to something stupid like this? A lot harder to cope with.
Oh well. Its over and dealt with, and I have the next 2 days off.
