Hi,
I'm having trouble healing my mercenary with hotkeys. From what I've read you are supposed to hold down [SHIFT] and then press [BELT HOTKEY] and whatever is in that belt slot automatically goes to my mercenary.
ie. Shift + 1 = give heal pot to my mercenary.
At the moment, when I try this shortcut-key it simply gives me a heal pot - not my mercenary!
Anyone have any ideas?

I actually had the same problem, which is why I never used that feature. Holding Shift + right-clicking on a potion does seem to heal the Merc though.
Yes, it was added in patch 1.09, though it doesn't seem like it's working 100%

Well it always work for me.
Maybe because I use Left Shift![]()
It stinks when you are shifting to prevent movement, press 1 to drink your potion & give it to your merc.
Always works for me
Are you using the expansion? Unless you're playing LoD, it won't work.Originally Posted by Crimmy

Most of the time, she just ran into the pack of monsters she was trying to shoot, getting pummeled. Then I decided to remap that key to my spacebar, and that was actually a lot better. It takes an hour or so to get used to it, but once you are, it works like a charm. Much better than that shift key!

When people tell me "plz" just because it's shorter than 'please', I feel perfectly justified to answer 'No' because it's shorter than 'Yes'.
And the Lord said unto Carl: 'Come forth and receive eternal life'. But Carl came fifth and won a toaster.
Also note that if you hotkey some function to your shift key, the "give potion to merc" function won't work!Originally Posted by Crimmy
Otherwise the function is fully reliable and my merc always gets the potion at the right time.
What key do you use for 'close window', then? Because thatīs what I use the space key for (I think itīs the default setting). For convenient and quick closing of inventory/merc/stat/gambling/quest etc. windows. Iīve used that since Classic, and it would take me a very long time to change that.Originally Posted by snowieken
My left hand is always by the left end of the keyboard, so Shift is easy to find for me.
hi.. get yourself a gaming mouse. with the extra buttons all hotkeys can be mapped to your mouse. plus the 1600dpi gives exact cursor movement.
IIRC giving your merc a potion with shift-number doesn't work if your inventory window is open, but I can't check that right now because I'm at work![]()
