Dex Required = {[(75 x (Level x 2)] / Shield's Block %} +15
Using the above equation. I was wondering if when putting shield block % do I put it as 72(storm shield) or 72%
Using 72 I got 192 rounding up. And 261 rounding up for 72%.
(used level 85) So I was wondering which one is the correct way to calculate this?
Use 72, rounding the answer up to the nearest whole number. So, for example, using level 99, you'd get 221.25, rounding up to 222, which is correct.

I guess my next question would be do you think its possible to get that much dex with base dex on a barb (base 20 iirc) :/
Edit: Hmm so far I've calculated 170 dex and at lvl 85 needs 176 and lvl 99 needs 188 (Eld rune in SS=79%)
If one used...
20 Base Dex
Arreats(PEmerald) 30 dex
Dual Ravens 40 dex
Perfect Anni 20 dex
BOTD 30 dex
Perfect crafted ammy (think it can get 30 dex...)
So far thats 170...
Edit again. Perfect safety amulet with 30 dex (89%)...
Lvl 85 would need 158 dex and Lvl 99 would need 182
Adding Marrowalks or Shadow Dancers would then allow you to get max blocking with base dex and still use duress.
Hmm interesting but you'd lose deadly with highlords/gores or ar with angelic combo :( Unless u going OW route :P I assume that crafted ammy = safety that could come with 10% increased chance blocking? Also upped waterwalks offers +life on top of dex which could be boosted by BO as wellMaybe some dex from charms as well? I am looking at Blood Belts and if they spawn with 10% OW, dex and life that'll be an potion but w/o verds you'd lose dr :(
p.s Is it possible to craft a +2barb/30dex/10%icb ammy with tele charges?
Well, you generally need to get somewhere between 112 and 152 base dex in order to hit 222 with good pvp gear. Getting there with base dex, you just have to sacrifice too much.

an eld in that ss saves like 20 dex as well
ooh and dr is irrelevant nowadays if your pubby, grief is bugged
Grief is bugged? Could you explain that?Originally Posted by MoreGameThanPS2
PS: even if you get max block with base dex and that setup, you wont have any chance vs a bvber. Which should be pretty much the only reason to use a shield.
