My First 1.10 Matriarch

I got into an MP game and got past the Ancients and breezed through Baal to get my first Mat. in 1.10.

The character is Sparky and she's a cheesy Meteorb Sorc. She leveled twice during the quest. Once right before we got to the Ancients and once again after the Ancients.

Finished at level 84. Her gear is as follows:

Oculus
Peasant Crown War Hat
"Rhyme" Grim Shield
"Stone" Diamond Mail
IK Gloves, Boots, Belt
Switched out amulet as needed +2 Fire Skills or +2 Cold Skills
Stone of Jordan
Dwarf Star
Meteor was at 27 with Fire Skills amulet
Orb was a 28 with Cold Skills amulet (have a +1 cold skills charm)
CM at 17
FM at 25 (?)

Merc. used:
Upgraded Shaftstop
Upgraded Kelpie
Vampire Gaze

It was a lot of fun getting a char. Mat'ed. Hell sure is different in 1.10 than in 1.09!!

Now I'll use her to MF while I work on another toon. I used to play Barbs and Paladins exclusively. So, I guess I'll have to try something new. Maybe a Druid will be fun and I know there are Cheesy builds available so, I'll be happy.

Congrats to mat.
You have really strange equipment there (being a sorc), it looks like you wanted to be able to tank monsters yourself.

Not too many difficult areas. The toughest was the tunnels in Act V because of the Gloams. Those things could kill me with 1 or 2 hits. At one point in rescuing Anya, I have about 6 or 7 corpses lying on the ground.

I think part of the problem is my resists were really low.

Regarding my gear...what do you recommend I use for gloves/belt/boots?
I'm assuming that's what you meant about me being part Barb.

gloves: frostburns or magefists. chance guards for mf
boots: war travs or silkweaves
belt: goldwrap for mf, upgraded lenymo. gloom's trap. arachnid mesh.

all are good choices. IIRC the IK belt isn't a bad 'caster' belt anyway. res n life no?

edit-btw, I was thinking the same thing about the strange equip choices. I thought you were all about taking the sorc in close, which is a valid strategy with meteor, or so I hear. I let my merc do that :uhhuh:
