i would just like to make sure this tournament is still happening since there hasn't been any discussion or updates on this recently. are the may 20th deadline for signups and may 24th for the tournament still correct?

Yes, bar any major thing that stops half the entrants from playing at that time.
Also, if you have shown interest, but not yet filled out the form, please do so, since it is much easier to look fro that than read all posts and decide if you were just curious or wanted to play.
Oh, and if connections are a problem, dont worry. even on dial up, although you may lag at times, since you wont be fighting hordes of monsters, lag shouldnt get really bad, espeically if your closer to the host geographically.

this is the best tourney idea ev4r. if only tcp/ip worked i would play the crap out of this tournament. man a HF pally would rock for this, too bad i haven't mat'd my sorc yet so i still don't have any items.

Really does look like fun, but I have to add some comments before I decide if I want to sign up or not:

BTW I'm taking that website as being your most current set of rules FB, if you have changed your mind on something it wasn't there.

1) There must be a ban on Bone Prison. Way too easy to abuse in this kind of game.

2) Knockback and Slows target.... has to be banned, or at least pick one and not the other. A GA zon with both will be impossible to approach. (maybe a multizon would be just as nasty, but I can't remember if only the centre two arrows carry those effects on MS)

3) Why ban cold charms when CBF is so easy to have? Either ban charms entirely or don't bother. If you are concerned about poison, allow antidote potions as the only kind of potion (or antidote and thawing potions)

4) Set a level range for more balance. It wouldn't take very long for people to get new chars up to a set range, and might help with equipment balance too if it were set at the right level (eg max level at 70 would eliminate a lot of the elite uniques) I think this would promote more planning and teamwork as people would likely have to build new chars, and would plan skills to work as a team.

Hmm, that's all I can think of for now. I had more but my brain has gone out on me.

Rules updated again. Knockback is banned (unless it is from a skill which isnt banned) and so is bone prison.
@lemming: this isnt a PvP tourney, so the rules are different. the main aim isnt to kill your enemy, its not be killed and get the flag, or stop someone getting yours.

I do concede that point to you, but isn't blasting the enemies chasing your flagrunner to make it easier for him to cap a valid strategy?

Why did you think pvp rules were draw up at first place? To give the competitors a fair ground, and that's exactly what could be used here.
