I thought of a small game we might like playing, but first we have to test it out. So, Its pretty simple, someone posts part of lyrics of a song along with its genre, and the person that replies with the correct song / band name posts in the next set of lyrics. Here goes:
" la dee da dee da dee dim dim dim " Its rock / alternative iirc.
Mario - girl I need" la dee da dee da dee dim dim dim " Its rock / alternative iirc.
-----------------------
"There was a time that the pieces fit
but I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smouldering
strangled by our coveting"

It is definitly newer rock, and I might have misdone it, heres a different part of the lyrics.
" la dee da de dum la dee da de dim dim dim " -> intro, part of chorus
" Her boyfriend smashed a bottle over my head " part of a verse

If you know the song, its a pretty obvious tune to hum.Originally Posted by Jigga-Scrooge
(although his humming kinda sounded like the 'im blue' song)
Now...just answer mine and move on:
Well, we drank champagne and danced all night,
under electric candlelight,
she picked me up and sat me on her knee,
She said, "Little boy won't you come home with me?"

Lola by the Kinks.
Here's a softball:
"Well, I'm not dumb but I can't understand
how he can lift me in the air just by raising his hand".
Hint: '80s

Dress me up, take your time, I'm your dollie
You're my doll, rock and roll, feel the glamour and pain
Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky-panky
(hint: it sucks)
