poison charms and a facet?

i have a pretty good handful of poison charms (about 1600 dmg, and proud to say i have no 290's), and i was wondering, if i were to socket a poison facet into a bow, would it have the intended affects on enemies (monsters or pvp) ?

Sharaz...only one side of the facet will work. That is, you are not using a POISON SKILL. So, the facet will not enhance the damage of the poison you intend to deliver. However, the facet will reduce the target's resistance to poison by up to 5%. IMHO, a 5% reduction in enemy resistance to poison is not too much of a difference.

suppose i got a 6 socket hydra, and put 30% reduction into it. hit a target a couple times, and switch to another higher dmg bow to make a quick finish?

im just trying to figure out what im going to do wtih these poison facets that no one seems to want to trade for
