I never understood why they had to make the modem scream like a banshee whenever you dial in. I think it is a sick joke on the developers part.

My condolences, i remember that at some point I decided not to have internet access at home just because broadband wasn't an option and dial-up was terrible.

i keep a nice thick towel handy to ram down on the modem come dialling time.
especially when u feel like some late night browsing and dont want to wake the missus

eh i found that vats works well enough for me to make it a decent compromise for turn based.....i like how i can start combat with a sniper rifle (plop 1-2 shots....) switch to a assault rifle (or lincolns repeater if i had that much time) use vats for 1-2 aimed shots to the head if i get a good "to hit %"....then switch to a combat shotgun and finish off the survivors....=).....
