I don't think there are many successful pay to play forums

Speaking from personal experience, L2 is far below D2 in gameplay. Only one crummy skeleton or zombie at a TIME! But the forum that I've subscribed to seems to be decent enough. Apparently they're arranged in actual 'clans' and then 'alliances' between the clans.

No, just the game. The forum was free. It would utterly slurp if I had to pay for that. The way the game works, it wouldn't be that much of a surprise in all honesty. :undecided:

Ah ok, for a minute there I thought the forum was "pay to play". The only pay forum I've ever seen is this tech support forum that comes up on Google sometimes when I'm trying to fix a computer. They show you the question and they want you to pay for a subscription before you can see the rest of the thread. WTF.
