On ladder I'm assumining? Non-melee's or if you feel you're extremely talented and have a pimp ww barb maybe.

Alot of smiters don't have enough res/stacked res to live against elemental characters, so if you don't feel like playing a caster you could go for a cs zon (no she's not melee), or maybe (for another melee pala) a really good avenger might have a chance if they can 1 shot em before they're smote. Against smiters who chose to ignore fhr my kicker can do ok, wof +lvl 35+ mb keeps em spazing for awhile But against good smiters, who are prepared for everything, my vote would be a liberator, bone nec, and blizz sorc (takes alot of effort to absorb a good blizz and it wouldn't be the best of manners... and then you could just tele around with a decked out a1 merc to finish them off, they would have given up alot to absorb you. ) ... more or less the cookie cutters.

Thanks for the response. I was planning to use a bone nerco, but the problem is that most smiters have charge and if they get 1 hit, they usually follow up with more. Any suggestions on dueling with bone nercos and blizz sorcs? or should i ask the nerco forum.

Blizz Sorcs are easy to kill any sort of melee with, the key is just surviving yourself. From my experience easiest is to just cast blizz infront of or on yourself from the direction they're charging from, and imeadiatly tele away. So long as they don't desync you, there shouldn't be any problems, and even if they do, they will probably die running at you with a blizz covering you. Wait to cast blizz till the last second before teleing away, dont give them the chance to stop before getting to you. If you're quick enough, you can tele towards them blizz and tele away to give them no time to react. From any melee I've ever faced this will work just fine, the hardest would be a good ww baba with tele, just make sure you get out of his way quick enough.

As for bone necro's you're going to probably want enigma but this is doable with alot faster run walk. Get yourself away from the smiter, cast bone spirits in a bit of a fan/spray fashion. When the smiter approaches you tele into your spirit field, if he gets near you can get around 4-5 spirits hitting him, and hopefully from there you can tank him fine. (Slow missles can actually work to your advantage in this situation, just force the melee to walk into the spirits) If you try to tele away he can charge right thru your spirit field which is why its best you stay put. After taking a hit from the spirits, your bone armor and hopefully some dr should be able to keep you alive long enough to tank him.

note: I don't really play bone necs, but I see many do this and it seems quite effective. And as for the blizzard sorc, you want to generally make sure you're 1 hit ko'ing. The only things that ever really gave me trouble with my bliz sorc are trappers, orb sorcs, foh, (those two don't need to aim =/) and a few good kick/ww sins (claw block). Albeit I've never played mcm and all the other great anti caster ww babas.

blizz sorc, eh? you on east? I would love to duel you with my v/t. I can negate a level 45 cold mastery, so should be fun.

For smiters, well i myself do, they wait for the enemy to approach them. So they have the better chance to hit 1st.

So char who can beat smiters are non melee, cos in this way we(smiters) have to come after u. For PvP smiters do have max resist, i don't stack cos that reduce the fun. Actually i do stack resist in pubby

WW barb had hard time back pre Grief, now they have a harder time.

So to sum up, best char would be a psn zon. They are damn hard to kill, they dogde, etc...

it depends on how wealthy you are. My low-to midlevel fury wolf handles them all very well, especially the pubby ones. The guys on theses fourms can be a little tougher if they double up on other skills, use battle orders, or whatever.

If you could gear up an expensive-style range 5 fury wolf I don't think you would have much trouble with them. Like I said, I'm so ghetto.

SH only dueled me as a pure FoH paladin and won. He didn't win a single match against me with smite.

Pravda won after he BO'd but not without it.

HandofElysium is the only temple/forum paladin that has beaten me good manners style with just smite, and we only dueled 3 times.

Anyone who says otherwise is lying or exaggerating.
