    Questions about WW.

Is it true that weapon speed is ignored by WW?
Is weapon range really important with WW?
Is it possible to cast the % chance to cast on striking from weapons while WW'ing? E.g. if I had a polearm barb with reaper's toll, would he be able to cast decrepify on monsters while WW'ing through them?
Is it possible to drink potions when WW'ing?

No, weapon speed does count. You can hit more monsters (or hit a monster more than once) while WW'ing if your weapon speed is high enough.
Is weapon range really important with WW?
Well, it's not REALLY important (my IK barb with his short-range maul did just fine) but a long range will make your life a lot easier if you have a WW'er.

Edit: It's not possible to cast 'procing spells' while WW'ing. (Decrepify, Bone spear and such) I thought it was, but I was wrong (<--- silly me). Perhaps things like Deadly Strike and Crushing Blow CAN get triggered during a WW, but I'm not too sure about this subject anymore.

No, you can't use any items while WW'ing, I also don't think it's possible to use other skills while WW'ing.

No, base weapon speed -ias has to be -34% or less for max speed. eg colossus blade (5) with 40ias = -35 so is ok.
Yes, higher the range the longer a target is in WWs reach so giving more hits.
    No
    No

So, reaper's toll would suck for a WW barb (no use for decrepify, and only 2 range). Bonehew has 3 range (same as BoTD BA), but the bone spears couldn't be cast. This means tomb reaver would be good, but getting one would be hard... Maybe I should use spears rather than polearms?

Try trading for an ethereal Hone Sundan, probabaly the best Whirl Wind weapon in relation to its price. Uppgrade it before entering hell. Eth upgraded Hone Sundan + Guilaumes is unfair to the monsters.

Ok, I'll go get the Hone Sundan then. It's speed = 0, so I would have to socket it ShaelShael to get the fastest speed for WW, is that mandatory?
The other socket would be ready & waiting for my selffound 13% ed/1-93 lightning damage jewel
Is that a good socketing plan?

I also got 3 more questions:
How much does ethereal reduce the item's requirements? I need to know exactly how much str/dex my barb's gonna need for the weapon.
Is more str than item req good for a barb (damage bonus?) Should I put a lot into strength or rather just enough strength to equip the gear and a lot of vita instead?
Finally, how expensive is an Eth Hone Sundan?

    PS: What's the mysterious "Guilaumes"???

Actually, you'll need 3 shaels in Hone sundan; 2h weapons need -60% ias to get to the last frame, so a base 0 weapon needs 60%, or 3 shaels.

    The breaks are:

-10, -35 for 1h weapons and all swords
    -10, -30, -60 for all other 2h weapons

Gul's is a set helm from Orphan's Call. It has crushing blow, strength, and deadly strike on it. You can look it up in the item database at diabloii.net or on the arreat summit.

No, you should not put more into strength. You generally only get enough strength, counting the strength you get FROM your gear, to wear your heaviest item.

Check the trade values forum for your hone sundan question.

All right, but how am I going to get my resists maxed with that set helm :/
I think Arreat's would be much better as a helm, and gore riders for the DS/CB.

PS: Arreats would have higher requirements than eth Hone Sundan, so I'll socket it with -15% req/10% ed jewel

Yeah, I'd stick with arreat's, it's more or less the be-all end-all of barb helms.

Resists shouldn't be too big of a worry. With arreat's, anya quests, an annihilus, a point of natural resist with +skills, and a few charms or an armor like Chains of Honor or such, you'll max easily.

Might consider socketing the arreat's with something along the lines of an ed jewel or such, though. The strength requirements are only 118, which isn't too bad.
