Lappy doesn't execute Diablo2!? WTF~?
Well here I am trying to keep my boring ol' self busy at work yet again, so keeping that in mind, earlier today I went and bought a D2 Battle Chest, so I could kill some time at work. I installed it but when I went to open it I get the "Unhandled Exception" error... ummm... Has this happened to anyone before, after installing a BRAND NEW D2? Anyone have any thoughts on this? Also don't bother telling me to re-install i've done that 3 times now.

Okay nevermind, I got it working, however im faced with another problem.
I went to log onto B.net and it started downloading the patch, and when it finishes downloading, it tells me ANOTHER error and then tells me to re-install D2.... WHAT THE ****!? Any thoughts on this "patch" problem now?
SP seems to work fine, but when I try to download the patch, after it downloads, it tells me to re-install Diablo 2.
-Now im getting annoyed, but I feel more sorry for Lappy than myself, is he forever to roam this mortal plane without knowing the thrill of having Diablo 2 on his HDD?

Is it kicking back the normal unhandled exception? What Os is it first off too. You might wanna try downloading the patch from the official site then installing without d2 running first.

Al, that would suck if you couldn't play D2 after that huge scene down at the Best Buy :lol:
I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play in the end though, these problems tend to fix themselves.

How very right you are. I got one of my friends to take a look at Lappy and the game tonight, turns our he said that the installation didn't come with a d2gfx.dll, whatever the hell that is. I asked him if I could download that or something, appartenly I can't and according to him if I did, it wouldn't work. So problem solved, case closed, but now I have to go back to EB and exchange it for a new one. However, he told me something interesting about this, according to him, since the copy of D2 is retail, the CD-key could be kept, then I told him "yeah thats all good and all but what am I going to do with 3 CD-Keys for Diablo(My PC, Brothers PC, Lappy)?". I don't use hacks or nothing so having multiple keys would be pretty useless... wouldn't it? But my question is what could a legit person possibly use multiple keys for?

Well actually, a lot of people with more than 1 CD key like to run multiple D2s so they can self mule and rush or whatever.

Well I don't have any other users on my PC.... because... well, its my PC, lol.
Would that mean I just have to create a NEW user account log into it and install Diablo there too? Kinda seems like a waste of 2GB... But then again it would be nice not to worry about realm downs and/or temp bans with how unstable the systems become.

Maybe I'll just buy a router or another ethernet cable or something to hook up to Lappy, then I wouldn't have to create a whole other account, considering I have Diablo already installed on him.

By the way Ken, did you need still need to finish Hell mode? or did you take care of that already and Baal running?

You know I never found out, Im at work, so I had to goto bed right after the movie last night, haven't been on Diablo since.
Its probly safe... I hope its safe... Yeah must be safe... :(
