My questions and threads always start off with incredibly long first posts.
The questions are about my venomancer, his skills and equipment.
After throwing 60 points in poison nova and its synergies, 19 points in curses with 10 in Lower Resist, 5 points in summons for golems up to iron, 5 points in CE and 1 in teeth. That makes 90 points or clvl 78. I still have 7 points left considering that most of my builds make pat/mat at cll 85. So should the rest of the points go into Bone Armor or something else?
Intended setup / realistic setup
uber rare circlet / Shako with p topaz
bramble / upped vipermagi with scin j00l
+2 P&B ammy with mf and resist / mara's
Death's web with facet / white wand
Trang's head with p diamond
from the poorer setup, I get +2 all skills from shako, +1 from vipermagi, +2 from mara's, +3 P&B from white with possible max of +3 to PN, +2 P&B from Trang's gear.
Total is +5 all, +8 PN. and -25/+25 resist and dam
+2 all from circlet, +2 all from death web and +2 P&B too, +2 P&B from ammy, +2 P&B from trang's.
Total: +4 all, +6 P&b. and a staggering, -75/+60.
After all this, which is better, +dam/-resist or + skills?
the rings are the interesting one. i can go Bk and SoJ. But I think i would go dual rares with +resists.
A few (or a bucketload) of shimmerings, a Gheed, a couple of skillers and some mf would finish it up.
A question about Hell council too, how many minions spawn with the bosses? Is it 2 or 3?
As you can see, he is going to run Hell travincal. Thanks for any suggestions.
Well, first off, 90 skills == level 79 (because you don't get a point for level 1).
I'd put one in Armor for sure if you're going to wear Marrows, and I'd consider going one golem farther and getting a Fire Golem. With his aura he tends to draw enemies to him (which is handy in a meat shield) and being able to recast him as needed might come in handy. The fact that he has a bit more life doesn't hurt either.
Other points? If you're golem is getting killed a lot, I'd sink some points into golem mastery. Otherwise, armor (or CE) might not be a bad choice.
Some people like revives with their poinsonmancer, so that would be another option. With +skills, you should be able to have a decent number of them running around.
with your realistic setup, you get a total of +5 to all skills, so 1 point in revives can basically give you 6 good met shields, with a merc and a golem, should keep your enemies busy long enough to kill them.
Hmm... first thing, spend only 1 point in armor. If you want to raise it more, out them in bone wall instead - this is one of these cases where synergies are better than the skill itself.
About +damage/-resists vs +skills... lowering enemies resists is uber. If you manage to break poison resistance, then, it is godly. +damage is always very nice. +skills will raise damage as well. Thing to do is, aim the perfect middle point. Easiest way to do it is testing. Really the math here is too boring for you to bother. Instead, equip it and feel the char.
About Hell councils and minions... I would rather farm the Ancients then have to face those #$%# more than once.
